Greetings!
WELCOME BACK QUILTERS!
What a fantastic summer we've had - not even enough rain to chase us indoors to quilt! However, now there's a Fall nip in the air it's time to rev up your sewing machines once more.
Our Schedule is out and classes will be starting shortly. Please check out our website for the full class listing with prices. We have projects ranging from table runners to wall hangings - ideal for Christmas gifts - and quilts of course!
Exciting news for the Fall is that we have TWO out of town instructors this season and registration is already open for their classes:
Elaine Quehl
Elaine was here earlier in the year and will be teaching her Liberated Strip Piecing Quilt on Saturday, September 15th.
Debbie Richards
On October 12th through the 14th, Debbie Richards from Moose Jaw will be with us for three classes to teach her famous 'folding fabric' sewing and quilting techniques. You'll be able to see her Trunk Show at the October 11th meeting of the Yellowknife Quilt Guild!

Quilter's Easy Dinner Recipe
Often us quilters struggle to balance our quilting and our lives - we hope to offer each month a simple & tasty recipe for quilters to help free up just that much more time!
12 skinned (and boned - optional) chicken thighs
2/3 cup flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon nutmeg
½ teaspoon nutmeg
½ teaspoon pepper
3 cloves garlic - minced
3 sweet potatoes - sliced
1 can condensed cream of celery soup
1 cup sliced mushrooms (or 1 can of sliced mushrooms)
½ cup orange juice
1 tablespoon grates orange rind
2 teaspoons brown sugar
Rinse and pat dry chicken. Mix in bowl or bag dry ingredients, then coat the chicken. Put the sliced sweet potatoes in the bottom of your crockpot, cover with the coated chicken pieces. Mix the rest of the ingredients together, and pour over the chicken and sweet potatoes. Cover and cook on LOW for 8-10 hours, or HIGH for 4 hours.
Serve with rice or noodles or by itself with a nice green salad!
