"It takes a Village"...
health care worker
Imagine you live in a rural village in Myanmar (Burma), like the one pictured here. Imagine you just delivered a baby in your home and the midwife has already left to avoid getting trapped by impassable roads before they flood again. What happens to you or your baby if something terrible goes wrong, such as post-partum bleeding or your infant's breathing is labored? Who can you turn to for help? The hospitals, doctors and clinics are another world apart, beyond what you could hope for, but because of the training in village health care and the vision of the Diocese of Myanmar, these rural villagers now have a safe and available health option. The Village Health Worker is one who has been trained for this particular need. read more
Brian and Judith Taylor , both physicians, are SAMS Bridgers and have been working with the Anglican Church of Myanmar to train Village Health Workers. The Taylors started their training with small groups.
They are returning to Myanmar in September of 2014 for one month. Gifts and prayers are both needed and appreciated. Please consider a gift towards a health kit and/or a student's training costs. Archbishop Stephen's desire is to raise up 30 new village health care workers (who can help to train others!) this September. You may conveniently give online (Please specify in the notes if you are giving toward a medical kit or the training.) here. If you write a check, please make it out to SAMS and in the memo line write "The Taylors" and also whatever specific item you want to designate your gift toward. Thank you for your prayerful consideration to make a big difference for a village.
