"If I ever had any doubts about Bonnie's and my call with SAMS to Arequipa then they vanished on that Sunday."

Praise Reports:

Give thanks with SAMS missionaries

Ian and Polly Montgomery for a smooth and peaceful transition back home to the United States, and for continued active work with teams and linked congregations and dioceses on behalf of Peru.  Also, give thanks for a very successful one-week trip in July with New Grace Anglican Church, Fleming Island, Florida.

Join with Grant and Wendy LeMarquand in thanksgiving that the Anuak people now have a complete Bible in their own language.

SAMS gives much thanks to the Lord for our five new  missionary candidates from the last Crossroads Conference in July.

Prayer Requests:

SAMS missionaries Shaw and Julie Mudge ask for prayers for their family's health and wellbeing and the growth and development of their online leadership program in Belize and Tanzania.  Also pray for the future students and financial provision for the program.

Continued prayer is needed for the health of Bishop William Godfrey of Peru, who had major surgery in mid-July.  The recovery will be slow and possibly lengthy.

New SAMS missionary candidates  ask prayers that their home will sell soon and without any hitches.  Also, please pray for open doors as they seek to raise partners in the Carolinas and elsewhere, and for upcoming training for both Johann and Louise.

Join SAMS missionary Margarita Grachen in praying for God's provision of child sponsorships for the new  children's shelter in Honduras.

Lift up SAMS missionaries Chuck and Beth Bradshaw as   they prepare for their departure to Mityana, Uganda in September.  Ask for the Lord's favor on an "African Evening" event planned by their sending church in Hulls Cove, Maine on August 24, that the evening will give God glory and be a blessing to the larger communities on Mount Desert Island.

Please pray for SAMS missionary Dr. Mary McDonald as she does an Animal Healthcare Training of Trainers course in Soroti, Uganda, followed by a Spiritual Integration of Word and Deed ministry in Gulu, Uganda, in preparation for the Gospel Goats ministry with her husband Jack McDonald September 24 - October 20th.  After the training, the McDonalds plan to do a site visit to Bwindi to survey the Batwa pygmy tribe for a possible future Gospel Guinea Pigs project.

Sora and Matt Colvin, SAMS missionaries in the  Philippines would appreciate prayers for their children's transition to their new school and for their children's hearing aids to be released to them as they are being held up in Philippine customs.

Join Grant and Wendy Lemarquand serving in Gambela, Ethiopia, in praying for the Opo ethnic group, which consists of about 5,000 people.  Many of the Opo have become Christians in the last 5 years, however last week they had the first ever death of an Opo Christian, a 19 year old. This has raised confusing issues for some of the believers. Pray for their priest David Onuk,  as he works through the questions and issues.  Also, pray for the encouragement of believers in a nearby country beginning with the letter S.

Please pray for Mike and Kim Miller and their children  Liliana and Katherine in the rural town of El Venado, Honduras, as they continue to grow The Hope of Jesus Children's Home and share Christ's love with hurting and vulnerable children.

Lift up Shirley Morris as she recuperates from chemotherapy.  Ask the Lord to open doors for ministry with the other people coming to recuperate at the Family House in Pittsburgh, PA, while she is in residence there.

Pray for the wrapping up of a busy summer short-term  mission season and for planning of a fall Home Ministry Assignment for SAMS missionaries Roberto and Cameron Vivanco.  The Vivancos especially request prayers for the provision of a safe, comfortable and fuel-efficient car for the 2.5 months they will be in the United States.

Mary Jane and Brian Dennison ask prayers for God's peace and for a good school year for their four children, two of which will be going to a local school, one who will be home schooled and for one daughter who will be traveling on a long commute to a school in Kampala (Pray for her safety as she travels).
