SAMS Messenger  
Awaiting Spring 

 

Many of us are eagerly awaiting spring! It is beautiful to watch the buds on trees start to emerge, and the crocuses start to poke up from the green grass. We think about summer gardens and what seeds we want to plant. In the same way, God's people are eagerly awaiting the seed of Christ to be planted. The Harvest is plentiful!

My husband drew the sign of the cross and
in Madagascar
anointed the 87-year old man with oil after he and a dozen others said their confirmation vows. This elderly man was baptized and confirmed even as the congregation still awaited their new church building, St. Gregory Malagasy Episcopal Church in Ft. Dauphin, Madagascar. 
 
It is customary to begin a church plant by talking to the village elders to obtain permission to present the gospel to their village. If the elders accept, then Read More... 
  
 
The Rt. Rev. Dr. Todd McGregor and the Rev. Patsy McGregor are currently ministering in Toliara, Madagascar, serving the most remote and poorest southern territories of the island.

Join us at 2:30 PM on April 4 in Ridgecrest, NC, in the Mountain Laurel Inn, Jim Henry Auditorium, to a panel composed of bishops from a representation of the international dioceses with whom we partner.

 

At 4:15 PM we will hold our reception and dinner (5:00 PM) in the Johnson Spring Building Azalea Room followed by a presentation featuring several of our senders. This brief dinner presentation will conclude 30 minutes before the first scheduled program element of  New Wineskins.

Prayer Requests: 

  

Pray for SAMS missionary Juan Marentes, his wife Maria Isabella and their family as Juan undergoes treatment for Guillain-Barré   syndrome.  Pray for a quick and full recovery and for rest and peace for him and his family.

 

   

Please lift up the people of Madagascar as they try to   recover from the devastation brought on by the recent tropical cyclone "Haruna" that struck their region on February 22nd.  Pray for SAMS missionaries, Todd and Patsy McGregor as they reach out to those in need.       

 
Praise Report: 

 

 We thank the Lord for SAMS missionary Townsend Cooper getting his license to practice medicine in Peru.  This will open up many more opportunities to serve the people of Peru.
