English Elm - A Hard To Find Beauty

     

We have been steadily restocking our inventory of English Elm natural edge slabs. English Elm is one of those gems that we are lucky enough to be able to find and buy it whenever we can. English Elm has very little sapwood, a creamy white color, and is mostly heartwood, a deep rich reddish-brown color. The logs are usually quite large so we are able to saw very wide, long slabs, often with beautiful crotch figure.   

As a result, our customers have made some gorgeous one piece table tops out of them. Besides having a gorgeous grain, English Elm is a tough durable wood that glues, stains, and finishes well.
