Cookbooks That Make Great Gifts: Recommended by Helmke Staff
Fertig Judith, Heartland: the Cookbook. Even if you don't like to cook, this is a great book. Beautiful photographs and interesting essays tell the food stories of Indiana and the other Midwest states.
Barbour, Christine. Indiana Cooks!: Great Restaurant Recipes for the Home Kitchen and Home Grown Indiana: A Food Lover's Guide to Good Eating in the Hoosier State. These two books of Indiana recipes are a great gift for anyone who is homesick for some good Midwest cooking.
Allen, Darina. Forgotten Skills of Cooking: Time-Honored Ways are the Best. This well-written book is a humorous look at the 'basics' of cooking.
