Jones Petit Verdot
NEW RELEASE!

We are excited to release the first ever Petit Verdot under the Jones of Washington label! Pronounced 'peh-tee vur-doe', this grape originated in the Southwest area of France and is one of the blending grapes traditionally found in a red Bordeaux blend. The wine is rarely produced as a single-varietal wine; however it is becoming more popular in the Northwest. Our 2013 Petit Verdot comes from our estate vineyard on the Wahluke Slope and has a touch of Merlot blended with it. This bold yet floral wine opens up with fruity aromas of black cherry, dark plum and black raspberry followed by hints of used leather, pencil shavings and cigar box. On the palate full of rich and dark fruit...blackberry, black cherry and juicy plum are integrated with chewy tannins. Other flavors of vanilla, lilac and orange bush linger on the finish. We suggest decanting this full-bodied wine for a couple hours before enjoying.
