Legislative Update
The 2016 state legislative session did not produce a transportation/transit bill therefore there is a missing funding block of 10% for Southwest LRT.
Hennepin County has indicated supporting a local sales tax increase to cover the missing funding for capital and possibly ongoing operating costs. To learn more about this, see this petition. Hennepin County could also decide to increase property taxes to cover the missing funding.

Trail Closure
A short section of Lake of the Isles Parkway Trail will close for one week beginning June 13.
The closure of the trail near the intersection of Lake of the Isles Parkway and Dean Parkway is necessary for workers to upgrade the pedestrian ramp at the busy intersection so that it complies with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
Pedestrians and bicyclists will be detoured to the west side of the parkway for a short stretch over Kenilworth Channel.
