Yard Waste Pick Up
Yard waste collection begins the week of April 11. Minneapolis Solid Waste & Recycling customers can have their yard waste removed by placing compostable bags of yard waste, bundles of brush and reusable yard waste containers next to their garbage cart by 6 a.m. on their garbage collection day. For more detailed information, go to minneapolismn.gov/solid-waste/yardwaste.

Spring Street Sweeping
Spring comprehensive street sweeping will begin in Minneapolis on April 13. Sweeping is scheduled for most of the Cedar-Isles-Dean neighborhood for the week of April 18. "No Parking" signs will be posted at least 24 hours before sweeping any streets. Parking will be banned from 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on the day a street is swept. Residents should not push leaves, grass clippings, or other debris into City streets - it's bad for our lakes and it's against the law. For more information, go to the City's street sweeping webpage.

Calhoun-Harriet Master Plan & Improvements
The Park Board is finalizing a vision and priorities for the master plan and improvements to Lake Calhoun and Lake Harriet.
All meetings are open to the public and will include an opportunity for public participation and/or comment. Earth Day Clean Up
Join your neighbors and friends in cleaning up
the lakeside in celebration of Earth Day. Saturday, April 23 9:30 a.m.- Noon Cedar Lake Pkwy and 25th St W Map Volunteers needed and appreciated. No pre-registration is required. Block Leader Training
You are invited to attend a 5th Precinct Block Leader Training.
Monday April 256:00-7:00 p.m. 5th Precinct Community Room 3101 Nicollet Ave Map (Visitor parking lot off 1st Av S just south of 31st St W) This meeting is informal and more than one representative per block is encouraged to attend. If you need to come a little late or leave a little early, no problem. - Block leaders get special crime alerts for their block and are asked to share with their neighbors.
- Block leaders get priority registration for:
- MPD Citizens Academy (learn how the police department works)
- MFD CERT (learn how to respond in a natural disaster)
- and can even attend the RPOW (rental property owner workshop)
- It doesn't take a lot of time to be a block leader but it can make a huge difference in your neighborhood.

Minneapolis Teen Job and Opportunity Fair
The 2016 Minneapolis Teen Job and Opportunity Fair will be held:
Saturday, April 3011:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Minneapolis Central Library, 300 Nicollet Mall Map This is a great opportunity for young people (14-19 years) to connect with employers and organizations that are offering jobs, internships, career education, job readiness training, and volunteer positions for teens. Rain Barrels & Compost Bin Sale
The Recycling Association of Minnesota (RAM)
is offering great prices on rain barrels ($74)
and backyard composting bins ($59).
Bins and barrel must be pre-ordered and will be available for pick-up at Minneapolis Public Works Facility on Saturday, April 30, from 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. To pre-order your bin or barrel, or for more information, visit RAM's website.

Tree Grant Program
CIDNA funds are available to help residents maintain and promote healthy trees in the Cedar-Isles-Dean neighborhood. Program details: Grants are available to CIDNA property owners to help defray the costs of:
- Removing dead or diseased trees
- Treating diseased trees
- Removing buckthorn

Raingarden Workshops
Metro Blooms is offering raingarden workshops. This fast-paced and focused three-hour workshop explores simple changes you can make on your property that helps protect clean water and create healthy habitats. It includes the latest information in healthy yard care practices combined with our popular do-it-yourself approach to raingarden design and installation. Following a presentation you will have the opportunity to receive assistance from Landscape Designers and Master Gardeners in a small group setting to go over your particular property issues.
