Southwest LRT Update
On May 21, 2015, the Supplemental Draft Environmental Impact Statement (SDEIS) was released for review and comment. The SDEIS evaluates potential impacts in three segments of the proposed Southwest LRT route. These potential impacts are the result of adjustments to the design of the Southwest LRT Project since the publication of the Draft EIS in 2012. An electronic version of the document can be found at metrocouncil.org/swlrt/sdeis (scroll down to "View or Download the Supplemental Draft EIS").Hard copies of the document are available at the local libraries and city halls along the alignment as well as at the Southwest LRT Project Office. Public comments on the SDEIS will be accepted through July 21, 2015 (extended from original date of July 6). Public Meetings: The Southwest LRT SDEIS open houses and public hearings will take place as follows:

Join our volunteer gardening team as they care for the beautiful gardens at Park Siding Park throughout the season. Personal Safety Workshop

Community Emergency Response Team Course
The Minneapolis Fire Department is offering a Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) course.
The dates for this 20 hour course are: Friday, June 19, 5:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m. Saturday, June 20, 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. AND Sunday, June 21, 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. The course if FREE. As part of the course you will receive: 20 hours of classroom and hands-on training, a CERT student manual, and a CERT backpack full of emergency preparedness supplies. We are required to do a brief background check on all of the participants. Greenway Glow
Join the Midtown Greenway Coalition for the biggest and brightest night on the Greenway -- the Greenway Glow Arts Festival and Night Bike Ride.
Saturday, June 20 6:00 p.m. - Midnight The event features more than 30 art installations and performances in and along the corridor. Overnight Shelters
City of Minneapolis staff is currently evaluating changes to the City's zoning ordinance for overnight shelters.
The current regulations require that all new overnight shelters only be allowed in an existing religious place of assembly. The City is conducting a zoning study and is seeking participation from Minneapolis' residents and business owners to discuss ideas, concerns, and opportunities to improve the existing regulations.
