Transportation Study Community Workshop
As a result of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Metropolitan Council and the City of Minneapolis for the Southwest Light Rail Transit project, the City will be leading an area wide multimodal transportation study for the West Lake Station area.
The first of three community workshops that will be conducted as a part of the study will be held on:
Wednesday, April 29
5:00-7:00 p.m. Jones-Harrison Residence 3700 Cedar Lake Ave Map
This workshop will consist of a series of interactive activities during which participants can help the project team identify issues and priorities for the West Lake area.
The West Lake Multimodal Transportation Study is being conducted to assess opportunities to improve safety, access, connectivity, and mobility for all modes of travel surrounding the West Lake Station area. Study efforts will be coordinated with partner agencies, with an emphasis on bicycle and pedestrian modes to identify non-motorized needs, challenges, and opportunities in the vicinity of the West Lake Station. Motorized travel will also be analyzed to guide intersection and roadway modifications that were identified as part of the preliminary designs for the West Lake Station area. The goal of the study is to identify opportunities to address non-motorized and motorized travel within the West Lake Station area with projects that can be implemented as a part of the construction of the Southwest LRT or as part of other capital initiatives.
Additional information regarding the study can be found on the City's project webpage.

Spring comprehensive street sweeping will begin in Minneapolis on Tuesday, April 14.

Sweeping is scheduled for most of Cedar-Isles-Dean the week of April 20. "No Parking" signs will be posted at least 24 hours before sweeping any streets. Parking will be banned from 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on the day a street is swept. Residents should not push leaves, grass clippings, or other debris into City streets - it's bad for our lakes and it's against the law. For more information, go to the City's street sweeping webpage.

CIDNA at Community Connections Conference
Over 500 neighborhood and community leaders, non-profit organizations, artists and city staff attended the 3rd annual Community Connections Conference on March 21.
The conference was organized by the City of Minneapolis and this year's theme was Creative Engagement and Action Using Arts and Placemaking.
CIDNA participated in the conference by hosting a table in the exhibit hall. CIDNA Board member and artist James Reid created an interactive display featuring a ping-pong table with a map of the neighborhood complete with local landmarks. The display was inspired by the permanent ping-pong table in Park Siding Park.
Thanks to CIDNA Board members who staffed the table throughout the conference: Craig Westgate, Rosanne Halloran, Barbara Lunde, Steve Goltry, Ryan Fox and James Reid. Special thanks to James for creating the best exhibit at the conference!
