Southwest LRT Station Design - Community Open Houses
The public is invited to attend open houses to learn about Southwest LRT station features and amenities and to provide feedback on station design concepts.
The Southwest LRT Project has developed several different station architecture concepts to fit into different settings.
This open house is an opportunity to learn about station design and give feedback to project staff. You can also hear a brief presentation on station design at the beginning of each open house.

Public Forum on Minneapolis Parks
The League of Women Voters of Minneapolis invites you to a public forum titled Minneapolis Parks: Old and New Protecting the Public Interest.

Lakes Calhoun and Harriet Comprehensive Plan
The Park Board will be forming a Community Advisory Committee (CAC) to update the Comprehensive Plan for Lakes Calhoun and Harriet.
CIDNA will appoint one person to represent our neighborhood on the committee. Volunteer needed! The CAC will meet 10 times over a several month period. Details will be available in early April 2015. Cedar Lake South Beach
The Minneapolis Park & Recreation Board is undertaking a process for planning and redesign of Cedar Lake South Beach.
A landscape architecture consultant will lead a design and community engagement process and prepare documents, through design development for South Beach.
Mark your calendars for the following community engagement meetings at Jones-Harrison Residence: Tuesday, May 19 6:30-8:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 16 6:30-8:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 14 6:30-8:30 p.m.

Walker Library architects Vincent James and Jennifer Yoos from VJAA were recently interviewed for an article in Architect Magazine, the Journal of the American Institute of Architects. Tree Grant Program
CIDNA funds are available to help residents maintain and promote healthy trees in the Cedar-Isles-Dean neighborhood. Program details: Grants are available to CIDNA property owners to help defray the costs of:
- Removing dead or diseased trees
- Treating diseased trees
- Planting new trees
- Removing buckthorn

Fix-It Tech Event
If your computer or laptop is slow, not working,
or seems to have a virus, bring it in for free tech support! Volunteers will teach valuable repair skills, answer questions, and give technical advice about your device.

Raingarden Workshops and Grants
Metro Blooms is offering raingarden workshops.
The three-hour workshop gives participants an overview of native pollinator plants and raingardens, including design, installation, and maintenance. In the second half of the workshop, participants receive recommendations for their property with one-on-one assistance from Metro Blooms Landscape Designers and Hennepin County Master Gardeners. Raingarden grants available.
Minnehaha Creek Wathershed District's Cost Share grant program can contribute up to 75 percent of the cost to install raingardens, pervious pavement driveways, or other water friendly landscaping.
The deadline for most residential projects is June 30.
