Southwest LRT Update

Volunteers needed to serve on the Kenilworth Station
Art and Landscape Committee.

In 2015, the Southwest LRT Project Office in cooperation with the City of
Minneapolis will be working with project partners, consultants, public artists, and
the community on station design, landscaping plans, and public art. This includes developing landscape designs for the Kenilworth Corridor between West Lake Station and Penn Station, and integrating public art into each station design.

Community participation is important to ensure that the stations and landscaping reflect the surrounding community and environment. Public engagement strategies will include the formation of an advisory committee as well as a series of open houses and design workshops.

The City of Minneapolis is seeking six (6) interested community members
for appointment to the Southwest LRT Project, Kenilworth Station Art and Landscape Committee (KSALC).
Click here to read more information on
the purpose, roles, and responsibilities of the advisory committee (KSALC),
which will begin meeting in April 2015.

The City is especially looking for architects, landscape architects or individuals
with expertise in environmental remediation experience as much of the work
will focus on restoration and enhancement of the greening and landscape in
the corridor.

Please consider volunteering as a Kenilworth Station Art and Landscape
Committee member. Submit letters or emails directly to:

Paul Miller, Project Manager

Transportation, Planning & Engineering

309 2nd Ave. S., Room 300

Minneapolis, MN 55401

Please include in your letter or email, a brief description of related experience or expertise which you would bring to the committee. Appointment notifications
will be made shortly after April 1, 2015.
