Southwest LRT Planners Announced their Recommendation          

 
The Southwest LRT project staff announced today (March 31st) that they recommend keeping freight in the Kenilworth Corridor and building shallow tunnels for light rail and a
LRT bridge over a channel between Cedar Lake and Lake
of the Isles.

The Corridor Management Committee* (CMC) is expected to vote on this recommendation at their meeting on: 

Wednesday, April 2 

8:30 - 11:30 a.m.

Please Note:
The east doors nearest the parking lot will be open from 8:15 to 8:45 a.m.; guests arriving after 8:45 will need to enter through the south doors located on 26th Street.   

 

Public testimony will be taken at the CMC meeting (limit to 3 minutes per person).

The CMC's recommendation will go to the full Metropolitan Council for approval
of the project scope and budget on Wednesday, April 9,  4:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers, 390 Robert St. N., St. Paul, MN 55101. Public testimony will also be taken at this meeting.

If the Metropolitan Council approves the recommended scope and budget on
April 9, project staff will submit LRT plans on April 10 to the five cities and
Hennepin County for municipal consent by late June.

CIDNA Public Meeting for Trammell Crow
and Greystar Apartment Projects on

consider two apartment projects in our neighborhood.

Trammell Crow will present a proposal for a 154-unit apartment project on the site
of Tryg's Restaurant. The project would be 6 stories high (60 feet) within +/- 4 feet
of Loop Calhoun Condominiums' height.

Greystar Investment Group will propose a 90-unit apartment project on the site owned by Lake Limited Partners at Thomas Avenue South and West Lake Street east of the Calhoun Beach Club Apartments. The project would be 8 stories high
(89 feet).

The Committee will consider a position concerning these projects on April 7. 
On Wednesday April 9 the CIDNA Board (meeting begins at 6 p.m. at Jones-Harrison) will consider action on the projects. Before the Board meeting on April 9 you may come early at 5:30 to see drawings and ask questions of the developers and architects.
