Winter Parking Restrictions in Effect
Effective as of 8:00 am today (Sunday, February 23), Winter Parking Restrictions have been put in place for reasons of public safety.
Because of snow and ice buildup along curbs, many streets are getting too narrow for fire trucks and ambulances to get around.
DO NOT PARK on the even side of non-Snow Emergency routes (most residential streets) until April 1, or until City officials announce conditions warrant that they may be lifted. This will allow emergency crews to navigate every street in Minneapolis and get to people as quickly as possible.
You may park on both sides of Snow Emergency routes, parkways and along the odd numbered side of non-Snow Emergency routes, provided a Snow Emergency is not in effect, or unless otherwise posted. For more information visit the City's website or call 311. The City offers a number of ways to be alerted about Snow Emergency parking restrictions, including Facebook, Twitter and a parking rules app for your smart phone!
