Sewer Construction Road Closures

Sunset Blvd. Closure Begins July 1 Kenilworth

Crews currently anticipate starting installation of new sewer pipe soon along westbound Sunset Blvd. between Depot Street and France Ave. S. and currently plan on closing westbound Sunset Blvd. to thru traffic early Monday, July 1 to set up equipment and materials.

A posted detour will direct westbound Sunset Blvd. motorists to use Cedar Lake Ave. and France Ave. The eastbound lanes of Sunset Blvd. will remain open. Access across Sunset Blvd. at intersections will also remain open at this time (but will close temporarily at a later date for sewer installation). See map below.

The roadway will remain closed for several months as crews work to install the new sewer pipe and repave the roadway.

Local Access
Local access will remain available for area residents who live along the closure area. Temporary driveway closures for those with a driveway along the closure area will occur throughout the work, and residents will be contacted individually in advance.

Garbage and Recycling Services
Project staff have been coordinating garbage and recycling services with the city of Minneapolis. For those with pick up along the closure area, crews will bring the garbage/recycling bins to the other side of Sunset Blvd. on collection days and return them once collection has been completed.

Area Bus Routes
Project staff have been coordinating area bus routes with local schools and Metro Transit. If you have concerns regarding area bus routes please email Bre Grand at bgrand@zanassoc.com or call 952-393-4685.
