Public Hearing for Park Siding Park      

Residents are invited to attend a public hearing regarding the restoration and playground redesign of Park Siding Park. 


Tonight, Wednesday, May 1

Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board Headquarters

Those wishing to speak may contact the Park Board at 612-230-6468 by 3:00 p.m. today. A sign-up sheet will also be available outside the Board Room at 4:30 pm.

If the Planning Committee of the Board approves the plans on
May 1, the project will be reviewed by the full Board on May 22, 2013.  Construction of the restoration is expected in early summer 2013.

More information is available on the project webpage including the graphics presented at the third and final open house held on April 15 and reports of the latest community outreach.

Southwest Light Rail Transit Updates
  
LRT Station Open Houses  

Hennepin County and its partners are hosting open houses to engage the public in planning work around proposed stations for the Southwest LRT. 

The open house focusing on the Minneapolis stations will be:

Kenilworth Alliance

The Kenilworth Alliance is a group of residents (from CIDNA, Kenwood-Isles and West Calhoun) working on issues related to Southwest LRT.  The minutes from the April  27 will be posted
at www.kenilworthalliance.wordpress.com by May 8.

Spring Street Sweeping Continues      

Spring street sweeping continues in Cedar-Isles-Dean for the next ten days.    


"No Parking" signs will be posted at least 24 hours before sweeping any streets. Parking will be banned from 7 a.m. to
4:30 p.m. on the day a street is swept.

Help the Park Siding volunteer gardeners as they prepare the garden beds for the growing season.

No gardening expertise is needed. Sherry Brooks, Horticulturalist with the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board will provide direction.
 
Bring work gloves and small hand tools if you have them. (Please label your tools so you are sure to go home with what you brought!)
 
Volunteers are also needed to help throughout the season (watering etc.)

Open house format - there will be a rolling 10-minute presentation.
  • Hear about the project's progress
  • Learn about the initial transit modes identified for further study
  • Provide feedback on the transit modes and transportation needs of the corridor
  • Talk with project staff and get your questions answered

The Midtown Corridor Alternatives Analysis is an effort by Metro Transit
to determine the benefits, costs and impacts of implementing a new transitway along either the Midtown Greenway or Lake Street in Minneapolis.
