Southwest LRT: Neighborhood Task Force
Alliance Meeting         

 
The neighborhood task force includes residents of the three most
heavily impacted Minneapolis neighborhoods along the "Locally
Preferred Alternative" route of the proposed Southwest Transitway,
as well as representatives from the citizen-run Cedar Lake Park
Association.

Park Siding Park Restoration Survey
Deadline March 24          

 
Please provide feedback for the Park Siding Park restoration project.  

A public meeting was held on March 12 to present alternative playground designs for
the park. If you were unable to attend the meeting, please complete a brief online
survey to share your opinions. Deadline is Sunday, March 24. Survey can be found at:
www.surveymonkey.com/s/ParkSidingParkConcepts.

The restoration of Park Siding Park is part of the Metropolitan Council
Environmental Services (MCES) Cedar Lake Area Sewer Improvements Project.
MCES, in conjunction with the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board, is working
to restore the park and redesign the playground. The park restoration is anticipated
to be completed in early July 2013.

Dean Parkway/Cedar Lake Trail Improvements, Community Advisory Committee (CAC)
 
All are welcome at the final meeting of the CAC, which will focus on the Cedar Lake Parkway and proposed Southwest LRT intersection area
and Cedar Lake South Beach.


The CAC will develop suggestions to improve the safety of trail crossings in this area.

Sewer Project Public Information Meeting          

 
Metropolitan Council Environmental Services (MCES) will hold a public information meeting regarding this year's construction for the Cedar
Lake Area Sewer Improvements Project:


Wednesday, March 27
6:00 - 8:00 p.m.
Jones-Harrison Residence, Centrum Room

The meeting will be an open house format with project staff on hand to answer questions and get feedback from residents and businesses. Information about the project design, schedule, construction and traffic impacts will be available.

W Lake Street LRT Station Walkabout          

 

An informal walkabout is planned  to "get the lay of the land" for the proposed West Lake Street LRT station.    

 

Saturday, March 30

10:00 a.m. 

Meet in front of Punch Pizza/Rustica, Calhoun Village Map at 9:55 a.m.

   

Planning will be complicated by the site's multiple access points and multi-level design requirements. Sophia Ginis, Met Council LRT Community Liaison, will be present.  

 

Wear stout walking shoes or boots.
