Dean Parkway Community Advisory Committee
The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board (MPRB) plans to improve trails along Dean Parkway and the west side of Cedar Lake, and seeks community participation in the plan development. The MPRB will appoint a Community Advisory Committee (CAC) to represent trail users and the surrounding community in the planning process. Improvements to known trail conflict areas, lighting, signage, and regional trail connections comprise the project's scope. Proposed improvements are not expected to change the current use of trails as a popular recreational and commuter route abutted by numerous urban amenities.
All trail users are invited and encouraged to complete a survey (click here to access the survey). If you are interested in being CIDNA's representative on the CAC, please contact Monica Smith at info@cidna.org or 612-821-0131 by noon on Wednesday, December 5. The CIDNA Board will select its representative at their meeting that evening.
For further information about the project see the current news release and visit the project page on the MPRB website.

North Lake Calhoun / South Lake of the Isles Charrette
The Minneapolis Park & Recreation Board (MPRB) led a preliminary park design study which took a fresh look at the landscape between Lake Calhoun and Lake of the Isles in Minneapolis.
Popular destinations in the area have led to steadily increasing congestion with accompanying safety concerns.
The study was organized as a multi-day community design event, or charrette, that engages the public in envisioning the future of the area and directly affects parts of south CIDNA including a possible land bridge between Lake of the Isles and Lake Calhoun and bike-ped-auto circulation at the busy intersection of West Lake Street and Dean Parkway.
For more information and feedback to the Park Board, including detailed drawings, please go to www.minneapolisparks.org/default.asp?PageID=1398
For input and background related to CIDNA, contact Bob Corrick, Chair of the Land Use and Development Committee at corrickcidna@gmail.com.
