Ministry Quicklinks

cross on islandWe want to say a sincere and heartfelt thank you to all of our wonderful volunteers who came, served, and loved the ministry in the past several months. In this edition of the newsletter, you will see projects with labor worth hundreds of thousands of dollars. We could not accomplish the work God has called us to do without the generous gifts of time, skills, and labor that our volunteers provide to the ministry.

A FRESH PERSPECTIVE

Some new Trinity Pines volunteers, a recently retired pastor and his wife, were greatly impressed by the diversity of our weekend retreat guest groups. They had a unique and memorable experience during their time here.

Each year, the Iranian Church of Houston comes to Trinity Pines for their retreat. This volunteer couple had the privilege of meeting members of the Iranian Church this spring and attended one of their retreat services. They were truly blessed with the spirit of worship. The Iranian Church pastor followed up with the volunteers and invited them to visit and preach to the congregation at their church in Houston one weekend in March. The couple had an incredible experience and were grateful for that wonderful opportunity.

The couple shared with the us and other volunteers about how exciting it was to get to see and hear believers from all over the world enjoying Trinity Pines and worshipping the Lord. They said it was something they just don't get to see in the small town in which they are from. This couple, like all of our volunteers, was so grateful to see the international nature of the ministry in which we are privileged to participate here at Trinity Pines Conference Center. And like all of us who serve here, we are blessed to have constant reminders of the many nations that make up the Body of Christ.

Prayer note: Please pray for our brothers and sisters in Christ from Iran and other countries like it, that they will have high impact ministries here in the United States and with friends and family back home, and that many would come to faith in Jesus Christ.

NEVER SURPRISED

Cross on Bridge 2

For every volunteer project we have been privileged to host, God sends the workers with the exact skill sets needed for that particular project. Whether we need construction experts, plumbers, electricians, painters, or in this case stonemasons and welders, God is well aware of our need long before we are.

Sometimes God stretches the volunteers in their comfort to perform certain tasks. Sometimes He challenges us to think more outside the box, but our needs never go unmet and everyone involved is reminded of God's faithfulness to His children and to keep His promises.

Prayer Note: Please pray that Trinity Pines leaders are constantly looking to see where the Father is at work, so that we may join Him and celebrate his provision.

 WHY VOLUNTEERS MATTER

Each year and for every project, Director Phil Springer shares the idea that our volunteer groups are a portable Body of Christ - the Church. Some volunteer groups work together at different camps around the region and see each other regularly on their various projects (the camp or ministry where they serve). Other volunteer groups have individals who may see each other, again, but are unlikely to ever have the exact same group assembled for a project. Regardless, our volunteers are a beautiful example of how the Body of Christ should function.

We learn a great deal about the value of intentional relationship building, prayer, and community from our volunteer groups. They work together, care for one another, focus on the big picture and don't tend to get caught up in petty issues. They serve the ministry joyfully and with grateful hearts. They take the time to really learn about one another's lives and support each other, faithfully lifting up each other's needs. Each staff family could share numerous stories of how we have been blessed by the loving support of our volunteers through the years. We have been blessed and inspired and Trinity Pines Conference Center would not be able to do a fraction of what God intends, without their kind and generous support of the ministry...THANK YOU, VOLUNTEERS!!!!!

Prayer Note: Please join us in praying that we all use the lessons we learn regarding the Body of Christ to better serve our families, staff and guests.
