Trinity Pines mission...
WELCOMING GUESTS FROM ALL NATIONS,
EXPERIENCING GOD IN A CHRIST-CENTERED
SPIRITUAL SETTING SO THAT THEY
MIGHT KNOW HIM BETTER
Dear Trinity Pines Partners,
Each year, as we look forward to summer, we have one really special camp where our staff is more involved with programming and participation. That is our Preteen Camp and it now has its own website, facebook page, name & logo!
Camp Overflow is the new name for the Trinity Pines Preteen Camp that we host each summer, and it is also the theme for 2013. Here are the dates:
Session I - Sat, July 6 (3:00PM) - Wed, July 10 (10:00AM)
Session II - Wed, July 10 (3:00PM) - Sun, July 14 (10:00AM)
Hope you enjoy this edition of our newsletter and the Camp Overflow related articles.
Also, our calendar is filling up for spring & fall retreats, so call (936-594-5011) or email (firstname.lastname@example.org) soon if you are interested in making reservations in 2012-2013.

OUR SUMMER FACE
Although our guest groups are ethnically diverse during our retreat season, we find that most of our summer camp guest groups are less diverse. We host mostly Caucasian, Hispanic, and African-American churches for camp. We are hopeful that in years to come, Camp Overflow will reflect the rich diversity of Houston, reach churches of a variety of ethnicities and that our effectivness in helping to unify the Body of Christ will continue to grow.
Prayer note: Please pray for the leadership of Camp Overflow to find more and better ways to reach out to churches of a wide variety of backgrounds, locations, and ethnicities.

VICKY RIGSBY'S STORY
Ever since I started taking kids to
Preteen Camp twenty years ago,
God has continued to bless me and
teach me new things through each
camp experience. I have seen kids
come out of their shell, grow in their relationship with the Lord, express
their feelings in a whole new way, and
come home completely changed.
Trinity Pines Preteen Camp has been a blessing to so many through the years. I began as a young new Children's Minister just looking for a place to take kids to camp, and somehow grew into the camp's director. What a blessing! I am so excited about Camp Overflow and the new things we are planning for this year's camp. It is going to be bigger and better than ever!
As we look forward to the summer, I want to urge children's leaders to begin planning, enlisting and promoting camp NOW. You don't want your kids to miss all the new things we have planned - not to mention the blessings God has in store for you by joining us.
Hope to see you there!

THE PLACES YOU'LL GO
Here is a brief look into a day in the life of an Overflow Camper:
After breakfast, campers have Morning Celebration while sponsors meet.
Next is Bible Study and Recreation.
Each afternoon of Overflow, we will have Church Family Fun & Games, when campers and sponsors get to experience together all kinds of great camp activities from Blob, Pool, & Ropes to Gaga Ball, Archery, & Games.
After dinner is Worship and "Late Night" Celebrations
Here is a link to the complete schedule. All of the activities and opportunities combine to create an exciting & life changing camp experience, where each summer hundreds of spiritual decisions are made.
Prayer note: That the Camp Overflow activities draw campers closer to Christ, to their churches, and to their friends.
"...so that they might know Him better" (Ephesians 1:17)
WHY CAMP MATTERS
George Barna has done much research regarding Christianity & evangelism over the past decade. Most studies strongly support the idea that reaching preteens should be a priority for the Body of Christ. Barna found that "two out of three born again Christians (64%) made that commitment to Christ before their 18th birthday"
The leaders of Camp Overflow and Trinity Pines continue to have the same passion and goals as in the past - reaching preteens with the love of Christ. However, as the culture grows darker and lines of morality more muddled than ever, camp has become a treasured refuge for young people facing unprecedented pressures. We find that children are dealing with issues that in the past were primarily seen with youth camps: bullying, violence, pornography, depression to name just a few.
As believers and leaders of future generations, we have the most amazing and effective opportunities and resources to make a difference for eternity.
Barna adds, "Families, churches and parachurch ministries must recognize that the primary window of opportunity for effectively reaching people with the good news of Jesus' death and resurrection is during the pre-teen years. It is during those years that people develop their frames of reference for the remainder of their life..."
Our mission is clear and critical and the opportunity priceless.
Prayer Note: Please pray that registration is completely full for both sessions, that God begins to prepare the hearts of campers, leaders, and staff, and that many lives are changed for eternity through Camp Overflow 2013.
