Trinity Pines mission...

WELCOMING GUESTS FROM ALL NATIONS,

EXPERIENCING GOD IN A CHRIST-CENTERED

SPIRITUAL SETTING SO THAT THEY

MIGHT KNOW HIM BETTER

Staff 2012

Our Summer Staff Team 2012

Dear Trinity Pines Partners,
Our summer was fantastic and we have begun a busy fall with retreats, campus projects, and Pamper the Pastor guests.

Campers and retreat guests throughout the summer were outspokenly grateful and excited about all of the visible improvements to our facilities and grounds.

We are all celebrating the many lives changed for eternity, as a result of the time campers and guests spent at Trinity Pines where sponsors, our staff, and the Father loved and encouraged them.

Our calendar is filling up for fall, winter, and spring retreats, so call (936-594-5011) or email ([email protected]) soon if you are interested in making reservations in 2012-2013.

Prayer note: Please pray that commitments to & decisions made for Christ through the summer have a continued impact on families, churches, and schools as they are lived out each day.

"Guests from ALL NATIONS..." (Matthew 28:19-20)

CHINESE MINISTRIES

We are privileged to host throughout the year a multitude of retreat groups whose guests are from Chinese descent. One church that we serve several times annually is Fort Bend Community Church. Their church has three different services and unique ministries for those who speak Mandarin, Cantonese, and English. We are delighted to partner with this high impact ministry and are grateful for their leaders' continued connection with our ministry.

As their members grow and impact their community and families here and abroad with the gospel, we appreciate the opportunity our ministry has to serve as a prayed over, God-provided meeting place for these and many other current and future Christ followers.

Prayer note: Please pray for the leadership of Trinity Pines to find more and better ways to reach out to our Chinese churches and ministries.

THE SPRINGERS' STORY

Trinity Pines Conference Center Director, Phil Springer, just completed his 12th summer. Under his leadership and as a result of the investment of numerous volunteers, a wonderful staff team, generous donors, and a supportive and empowering board, many improvements have been made in the facilities and in the ministry during his tenure here. The largest and most significant additions are:

Fred and Faye Springer Amphitheater-2007

Mary Helen Smith Worship Center-including the Coffee Shop, deck, and porte cochere- 2009

6 (eventually 10) Family Cabins- 2009-present

Office Remodel & Waterscape-2012

Phil and Melanie Springer

Phil, his wife, Melanie and their 3 sons Jacob, Ethan, and Adam have enjoyed serving the Lord and ministering together throughout the years. Phil says, "Trinity Pines has certainly been a wonderful place to raise a family. We are so grateful for the amazing journey God has led us on as we have enjoyed summer staff ministry, volunteer groups, completing projects with our board, and doing life with family and friends."

The Springers were blessed to welcome a new addition to the family this summer as Jacob was married to the love of his life, and former Trinity Pines Staffer, Jenna Keefe. The wedding took place at the Mary Helen Smith Worship Center.

Prayer note: Please pray for God's protection and blessing on the Springer Family and all of our staff.

FALL PROJECTS

Last year, we shared a number of ways that you could support Trinity Pines ministries and we received generous responses and positive feedback regarding our ongoing work.

Several projects are underway this fall as we constantly aspire to provide our guests with improved surroundings for their retreat, camps, and gatherings.

Here are some opportunities for you, our supporters, to partner with our ministry.

Paths to WC

PAVING THE PATH TO THE WORSHIP CENTER-

Above you can see that the paths between the Mary Helen Smith Worship Center and the main campus (Office, Dining Hall, etc) have been partially paved. We are still awaiting the additional funding to complete this effort, so that guests can move safely and conveniently between those facilities.

Harrell Cabin

CABIN 6 OF 10 CONSTRUCTION

Our five Family Cabins have been so well utilized and appreciated that the plan is to construct 5 more in the next several years. Our volunteers have provided the primary labor on these projects and we currently have Texas Baptist Men Campbuilders ministry working on Cabin 6.

Coleman Front

COLEMAN GROUP HOUSE EXTERIOR UPGRADES

This is a favorite facility for many groups. It sleeps 40 guests in two sleeping areas with a comfortable meeting room in the middle. The interior was recently remodeled and the volunteers are currently working on improving the exterior by replacing the current shell with Hardie Board.

We hope that you will come see in person all the amazing changes taking place on Trinity Pines' campus.

Prayer note: That we will continue to have the financial resources and labor to continue to make improvements to our facilities.

THE HOME SCHOOL FAMILY CAMP 2012

During the summer of 2011, Trinity Pines hosted a Home School Theater Camp for children and youth. Those who participated and led the camp enjoyed it so much that they felt that the Lord was leading them to expand the camp to include families and to add additional tracks for the students to choose from.

The first camp of our summer was The Home School Family Camp/Families of Courage and it took place May 28th-June 1st. Families came from out of state, it was multigenerational, and the activities included basketball, skeet shooting, archery, musical theater, and of course the Blob, Ropes Course, and pool.

While the students were at their preferred mini-camps, the parents enjoyed workshops and discussions over relevant parenting and home school topics.

Once again, the response was so great and the interest so high that plans and sign-ups are already underway for

We wanted to give an update on Karen Beakley who has had some recent health challenges related to her heart.  Thank you for all of the encouragement and show of support to her and to Randy and especially for all of the prayers. Karen and Randy are truly grateful for the Lord's hand of protection in their lives and for the prayers of His people on their behalf.   We are pleased to share that she is back at work, making her way back toward full-time. Please continue to pray for her body to heal completely, for the blood clots to dissolve, and for the swelling in her leg to go down.
