Mead Awarded 3 Program Grants
Mead Public Library was honored to receive three grants this fall.

Library Director Garrett Erickson and Matt Beinemann, Youth Services librarian, traveled to Lambeau Field on Dec. 4 to accept a check for $2,000 from the Green Bay Packers Foundation. The funds will be used to build a media lab in the library.

Mead Library also received two grants from the Kohler Foundation, Inc. One $1,500 grant continues the Kohler Foundation's funding of Mead Library's monthly Art4Fun programs. Art4Fun features a presentation and an art project (top picture below) based on a different theme each month for children in grades 2 to 6.

The second grant, for $2,000, will support the "Make It @ Mead" series of monthly programs (pictured below). This drop-in program for adults offers materials and space to explore and create arts and crafts.

New Book Group to Meet at Urbane
Mead Public Library is offering something new beginning this winter: a social book discussion group that will meet at Urbane Bar & Grill, located at 1231 N. 8th St. in Sheboygan. Sessions are set for the first Tuesday of the month at 6:30 p.m. and no registration is required. The Feb. 3 selection is "Life After Life" by Kate Atkinson.

Mead Public Services Manager Melissa Prentice said, "By selecting interesting, contemporary titles and holding the discussion at a well-loved neighborhood bar/restaurant, we hope to engage working adults who may not have the time or interest in attending traditional library book discussion groups. So come grab a drink, discuss books, and meet new people!"
