STC's free bilingual seminar, "Managing the Huge Cost to Accept Credit Cards", was held at STC Center. The speaker, Rich Kozak, introduced the eight costly mistakes that many businesses make: - Accepting a blended, fixed rate contract instead of interchange plus pricing
- Not using the power you have to attract & prioritize debit cards
- Not knowing your crossover point when pin debit becomes less costly than off-line debit
- Using a merchant service on your website or phone because it promises low cost when, in fact, it is NOT
- Practicing sloppy P.C.I. compliance, making your business vulnerable to DATA theft (fine & Audit)
- Falling for "you need new equipment" when you do not or not buying the equipment that makes you money
- Not knowing the Law and Visa requirements about adding surcharges to credit purchases
- Not having a merchant service partner who teaches and coaches you in your best interest

FFDY in Alliance with STC 2013 Youth Leadership Camp
天使之家基金會參與協辦STC 2013青少年領袖品德培訓營
We are excited to announce that the Foundation for Disabled Youths (FFDY) has officially become one of the co-coordination groups of STC's 2013 Youth Leadership Camp!
FFDY's volunteer student leaders will participate in this event that will broaden the life experiences of the children. In addition, all of the children that FFDY serves, along with their parents, will have the opportunity to join in on the field trips and the camping adventures.

RHCA 2013 Fundraising Gala
羅蘭崗華協舉辦2013籌款晚會

Rowland Heights Chinese Association (RHCA) held the 2013 Fundraising Gala at STC Center. On behalf of RHCA, President John Hsu received recognition from community leaders including Congressman Ed Royce, Assemblyman Curt Hagman, Walnut Mayor Mary Su, the board of Mt. San Antonio College, RHCCC, etc.
Each year the RHCA Gala provides a vital means of funding the community and this year they saluted the teachers within the Rowland Unified School District.
羅蘭崗華人協會在東區第一會館舉辦了2013籌款晚會。代表華協，會長許惠欽領取了眾多社區領袖頒發的獎狀，包括國會議員 Ed Royce、加州眾議員 Curt Hagman、核桃市市長Mary Su、Mt.SAC大學董事會、羅蘭社區協調委員會等。
每年羅蘭崗華人協會都會通過年度就職晚會為社區籌集善款。今年，華協向羅蘭學區的優秀教師們致敬并頒獎，感謝他們為培養我們的孩子所付出的心血。

San Gabriel Valley Civic Alliance held the Sector Awards Luncheon honoring six outstanding individuals from the San Gabriel Valley area. Among them are Lillian Rey, from El Monte Emergency Resources Association, Honorable Esteban Torres, Congressman (Ret.), Mary Ann Lutz, Mayor of Monrovia, Sergio Rascon, Laborers Local 300, President, Bill Scroggins, Mt. SAC President & CEO and John Hsu, STC Management CEO.
Nominated by Dr. David Hall, the Vice-Chair of SGVCA, STC officer John Hsu was recognized as the Business Honoree. Congratulations!

The loss of life and stunning devastation in Oklahoma City suburbs after a monster tornado ripped through the area are heart-wrenching. "The streets are just gone. The signs are just gone," said Oklahoma Gov. Mary Fallin, after she toured the area by helicopter Tuesday. And many, many relief organizations are getting the message out on how to help.
