CLARION-LEDGER TOP PERFORMER

Congratulations Avery Hederman for being named a Soccer Top Performer for her performance during the MAIS Division I Soccer Championship.
COME ONE, COME ALL!

JA Fall Carnival is tonight, and we can't wait to see everyone on the JA midway!

The event begins on the JA campus at 5:00 p.m. The Fall Carnival is a community-wide event and one of the oldest and largest fall festivals in the Jackson area. The night includes old fashioned carnival games, a costume contest, jump houses, the chamber of chills, obstacle courses, a fabulous bake sale, a pumpkin decorating contest, and much more! This year our Raider Raffle features a four-night vacation to Turquoise Place including a loaded beach bag and $1,000 spending cash! Carnival style food trucks will be on site for dining options. For more information, please visit
jacksonacademy.org/carnival.

Middle School Movie Night will be held in the Amphitheater at 6:00 p.m.

STUDENT-LED JA RETREAT DRAWS LARGE GROUP

The Retreat: Ablaze was an amazing experience for the 300-plus students and alumni who were part of this student-led weekend. There was pizza and meeting with team leaders after the game Friday night before heading to the host homes for small group times. On Saturday, there were sessions with speaker Chad Berry and praise music with the Matt Collins Band, followed by breakout sessions. After lunch, participants had recreation time with a wide range of sports, relay races, and games. Saturday evening included dinner with small groups, more music, sessions, and small group times, plus a surprise party. On Sunday, the students cleaned up at the host homes then returned for a closing session at Raider Park. Both the leaders and the participants reported it was a wonderful time of fellowship and fun. Many recent alumni, now college freshmen and sophomores, returned to campus to be part of this great program and assist the leaders.

BAND EARNS CLASS A HONORS IN ST. LOUIS;
PERFORMS AT 4:15 SATURDAY IN MAIS EVENT AT JA

Congratulations to the JA Band for receiving second place honors in Class A in the Bands of America Regional Competition in St. Louis! This event showcased some of the finest band programs in the country, with 64 groups competing at the Edward Jones Dome.

The MAIS State Marching Band Festival is this Saturday at JA's Raider Field. The JA Band performs at 4:15 p.m.

More volunteers are needed to make the event run smoothly and to provide a positive experience to the visiting groups and fans. Please contact Jamie Niemeyer ([email protected]) to volunteer for a few hours Saturday afternoon. For the schedule of events, visit the band blog at jaband.blogspot.com.
