heat Do you know the difference between heat exhaustion and heat stroke, or how these illnesses can be treated? Now that summer is underway, here are some simple ideas  to help you avoid too much heat and sun.
The Lake County Health Department/Community Healthdog  Center's Animal Care and Control Program will offer a low-cost pet vaccination clinic on Saturday, July 20, from 9 a.m. until noon at Zion Park District's Shiloh Park, Bethel Boulevard and 27th Street in Zion.
Be aware of ticks this summer as Lyme disease cases are becoming more prevalent in Lake County. Thus far this year, six cases have been reported. While most cases in the past were diagnosed in people with a history of travel outside of Lake County, most cases this year have been attributed to tick exposure here.
The Health Department's Animal Care and Control program frequently receives calls for wildlife removal, especially in the warmer months of the year.  While Animal Care and Control can provide assistance with domestic and pet animal issues, it does not provide wildlife removal services.
