Healthy Eating - PRESCHOOL Campus

NMSC Presentation Leslie Kay of Nutrition Management Services spoke to all our Preschool - Jr. Kindergarten students about the importance of fruits and vegetables. She introduced many great veggies and fruits for all our students to try.  She showed them eggplants, different colors of potatoes, and showed them brussel sprouts on the stalk!  They also all sang the song about trying to have 5 servings of fruits and vegetables every day. All the students had a tasty treat of celery, carrots, and ranch dressing...it was so much fun to see them chomping away on veggies!

Junior High Spirit Week

  JH Spirit Week
Shawnnelle N. and Justin S. try to paddle their boat to the other side.

Junior high students spent the week before spring break celebrating "Keeping it Reel," an ASB planned Spirit Week, packed with games and class competitions all related to the movies. From Lilo and Stitch's Hawaiian themed dress up day  to Toy Story, Mean Girls, and Peter Pan, students and teachers donned their most creative interpretations of famous characters and paraded down through the hallways of JH revving up for the much anticipated Homeroom Olympics.

After a week of big talk and careful planning, students spent two hours building a water-worthy boat completely from cardboard and duct tape to enter in the First Annual Cardboard Boat Regatta. After construction, the boats were dropped into the pool and manned by two students who paddled furiously (and sometimes sank!) trying to make it to the other side. "The boat race is my favorite memory from junior high," raved Cara Pusavat, "It was so much fun!"

Following the boat race, students enjoyed watching Mr. Briner and Mr. Ickes BBQ hot dogs before continuing the games. Enthusiasm was high as classes cheered each other and after a close race. Mr. Briner's class took home the trophy.
