Lizard Wizard - PRESCHOOL CampusThe Lizard Wizard visited the Historic Anaheim Preschool this week! Lizard Wizard offers children of all ages and abilities a hands-on journey into the fascinating world of reptiles, amphibians and arthropods. Twenty five cold blooded friends (large and small) came to the Preschool. Students were able to touch the scales of a python, stroke the spines on an iguana's back, tap the shell of a giant tortoise, tickle the feet of a monster millipede and watch Charlotte the tarantula spin her magical web. We would like to thank all the families who participated in our school fundraising efforts and to our amazing Parent Board for allowing our students this hands-on learning experience. Who knows, we might have a few future herpetologists among us.Authors Hans and Jen Hartvickson Visit - MAIN CampusOn February 5th, Grades K-5 will enjoy The Creation of MISTER LEMUR's TRAIN of THOUGHT. Re-Enrollment
We're wild with excitement and almost ready to kick-off our RE-ENROLLMENT! As you know, we've united our two campuses (Mable and Citron) under the new "Historic Anaheim Campus" name and one leadership team.
Also, it is the time of year that we ask all current Historic Anaheim families to let us know their plans for the next school year. If you are planning to re-enroll your child at the Historic Anaheim Campus for the 2013-2014 school year, please complete the re-enrollment packet, which you will receive via mail in the next few days. As you know, many of our classes are at capacity. To ensure your child's spot, please return your enrollment contracts by February 22nd along with a 10% deposit. If your child currently has a sibling that you would like us to consider for enrollment in the 2013/2014 school year, please stop by the admissions office at your campus for a new student packet. We look forward to welcoming your family to another amazing year at Fairmont.
PRESCHOOL Preschool students, please join us for a Safari Adventure as we transition from our former mascot, the husky pup to The Historic Anaheim Panther Cub. All students are currently displayed on their teacher's door as a husky pup. As each student re-enrolls they will transition to a panther cub which will be displayed on the bulletin board outside of Mrs. Jansen's office. Every Historic Anaheim Preschool student who re-enrolls will also be put in a raffle to do a school-wide morning announcement over our PA system and will also help their classroom re-enrollment percentage. The three classrooms with the highest re-enrollment will suggest a name for our new panther cub mascot. At the end of re-enrollment every family will get to vote from the three possible names. If we reach our school-wide re-enrollment goal, we will have a breakfast party featuring Rocky the Panther, Historic Anaheim's life-sized mascot! MAIN Bells will be ringing! Every student who re-enrolls for the 2013-2014 school year will join the tradition of ringing the old school bell. In addition, students and their families that are enrolled by the due date, February 22, will be entered into the following drawings:
- Kindergarten and first grade students will be entered for a chance to be crowned "King of the Jungle" for a day and have "Donuts with the Director."
-
Students in grades 2 through 7 will be entered to win the coveted "Director for a Day" during the 2013-2014 school year.
- Parents will be entered into a weekly raffle for a $50 True Grits gift card. The first winner will be announced in the February 8th newsletter.
To end our celebration on February 22, please join our mascot Rocky for a roaring-good breakfast on the front porch (and an opportunity to drop off those last minute contracts.)
