CHOC Toy Drive - PRESCHOOL & MAIN Campus
The spirit of the holiday season is underway, and our Annual Toy Drive kicked off last week. We would appreciate if you could help us by donating a toy for a boy or a girl who is at CHOC -- Children's Hospital of Orange County. These children would truly benefit from receiving a special gift on Christmas morning and all year long. You can drop your donation off at the campus until December 14th. The toys will be picked up at the Preschool by the Orange Coast Harley Davidson's Chapter. They will come to the both the Preschool and Main Campus on Friday, December 14th via motorcycles. Thank you in advance for your kindness and generosity.

1st and 2nd Grade Musical

"Everybody's Goin' on a Sleigh Ride," echoed through the cafeteria as our first grade students told the tale of "Elfis and the Sleigh Riders" through singing and dancing. During the morning performance, Andrew H. performed as Historic Anaheim's "Elfis," and during the evening performance, the role was played by Nicholas A. The story told of Elfis, his band, and back-up singers. The musicians have a rift and with the help of Santa and his reindeer, they realize that friendship is the most important thing to have at the holidays.

After the first graders were showered with applause, several students showed off their individual talents. A trio of dance numbers entertained the crowd. Elle F. performed to "Sarari O" in her jazz dance number, Elizabeth F. performed a ballet to "Waltz" from "Sleeping Beauty," and Davianna F. dazzled with her contemporary dance to "Not a Love Song."  Along with our talented dancers,  one of our gifted third graders, Lianne C., played the first movement of a beautiful piece by Seitz entitled "Concerto #5." Bravo to all our soloists!

Finally, the second grade classes took to the stage and told the tale of "A Storybook Christmas." In the tale, Santa's elves want to change up the stories to make them a little more modern. Santa, played by Bilal T. in the morning and Michel M. in the evening, charge Lexie and Felix with writing and illustrating the storybooks. He instructs them to stick with the tried and true stories. Lexie, played by Courtnie B. in the morning and Lauren L. in the evening, and Felix, played by Rahil L.  in the morning and Kai H. in the evening, decide to take a nap while they are burning the midnight oil. During their slumber, they are visited by classic storybook characters. The characters they meet--the Three Little Pigs, Little Red Riding Hood, and the Big Bad Wolf--are not the same characters we have come to know and love through classic storybooks. The Three Little Pigs are interior decorators, the Big Bad Wolf is a gourmet chef, and Little Red Riding Hood owns a vegetarian restaurant. When Lexie and Felix awaken from their dream, they quickly finish the storybooks just in time to load Santa's sleigh for his Christmas journey to deliver toys.  Kudos to our second graders for reminding us of the value of classic literature!
