Feature Article Operation Candy
We are asking that our children share their Halloween candy with our troops serving overseas in Afghanistan, Iraq and Naval Ships in the gulf region through Operation Gratitude. This is the perfect opportunity to teach our children the importance of sharing. We ask that all of our families help by donating all of their unused Halloween Candy to a truly deserving cause--the soldiers that fight for our freedom. Our partner for event "Operation Gratitude" will ensure that our candy, pictures and letters are safely delivered to soldiers serving in the Army, Air Force, Navy, Marines, and Coast Guard serving abroad.
Each classroom that donates over 100 pounds of candy will earn a pizza party. The classroom that donates the most candy will receive a $100 certificate for school supplies for that particular classroom. Please remember to tell your family, friends, and co-workers about this great cause and opportunity to donate their leftover candy from Halloween.
There will be a collection box located in each classroom for your candy. Don't forget bags of candy may also be purchased at a reduced price during the days after Halloween. You may donate candy until November 9, 2012. Military personnel will attend our flag salute that day to accept the candy donated by our generous Fairmont families.
CANDY COLLECTION DATES: OCTOBER 29 - NOVEMBER 9, 2012 Please contact our chairperson for any questions: Chairperson: Michael Felix Cell Phone: 562-762-6065
