Maianthemum (Smilacina) racemosa
People often ask what my favorite plant is; this plant is definitely at the top of my list. False Solomon's Seal is an outstanding multi-season plant. The flowers are creamy white plumes and unlike Solomon's seal are easy to see and add interest and texture to the garden. The leaves are arranged in a zigzagging pattern on arching stems. The stems hold up well through the summer.

Amanda's Garden Open House
 
What is our open house? It is an opportunity for people to see native perennials in a garden setting. You can come out and take a tour with either the owner, Ellen Folts, or one of her trained guides. You can ask questions and get ideas for your own garden. You will get to see native plants that would take days of hiking to see in the wild, and they are here all in one place. The plants are just beginning to bloom here, so there is sure to be plenty of plants in flower.  Come and envision the possibilities.
