Everyone had a blast playing games and hanging out with their very own Mentor for a Day! A special thanks to Dr. Walljasper's Developmental Psychology class for planning the activities and the Mt. Pleasant Rec Center for the use of their facilities.
To all mentors and mentees that attended, thank you for your time! We're already looking forward to our next Mentor for a Day this spring!

Closing Your Match--How to say goodbye
As the year comes to a close, and thus some of our Club M matches, here are a few general tips for parents and mentors to create a smooth and healthy match closure.
In General
- Avoid the blame game. Remember that most relationships Change over time, and that sometimes it is healthy to end a relationship and move forward. Acknowledge that this may be hard and sad for your Child, but remember to focus on the positive things that have come out of the relationship. Modeling this positive focus will help your Child do the same.
- Encourage your child to talk about what he
found most important and satisfying about his relationship with his mentor. - Encourage your child to let his mentor know how much he means to him. Have your child thank his mentor for the opportunity to get to know him, and let hirn know how he has helped your Child change for the better.
