Awarded 2nd Project on

Butler Tech Campus

We are excited that the SouthWest Ohio Computer Association (SWOCA) selected Shook Touchstone, a long-time joint venture team, to provide design-build services for a new $2.9 million office building and training center at the Butler Tech campus in Hamilton, OH.

The new 14,100 SF building will include professional offices, administrative support spaces and a technology conference and training center. This modern office environment will feature natural daylight, flexible work environments and a well-integrated technology infrastructure. The project will be complete August 2015.

Our design partner is Pinnacle Architects. We have worked with Pinnacle on nearly a dozen projects, including several design-build projects, and we are excited to collaborate with them once again.

SWOCA is one of 22 information technology centers to provide information processing services and support to over 900 Ohio school districts, educational service centers and community schools.

Shook project team members include Andy Goetz, Jaron Develbiss and Donnie Durham.

Shook Touchstone also is providing construction management at risk services for Butler Tech's Bioscience Educational Facility, also to be complete August 2015.

Highlights from our Water Resource - Midwest Region

As with all of our market channels, the Water Resource - Midwest personnel diligently works to go above and beyond the call of duty on all of our projects. Recent accomplishments include:

Crescent Hill Water Treatment Plant Project

This challenging project involved 48 months of filter renovations and ancillary modifications. Our project team persevered to see the project through on-time completion, which included an increased scope of 17% the original budget.

Kudos to the project team: Eric Rees, Lyle Hoops, James Johnson, Matt Hoops, Steve Brown, David Lexow, Roy Wheeler, Dustin Wheeler and Jason Wheeler.

Front Royal FMC GLTP Project

Another challenging effort, this project unofficially could be classified as a design-build project. Our project team managed an increased scope request of 8% of the original budget to deliver this project early, under budget and of quality far exceeding the rigors of a private chemical industrial client.

Many thanks to the efforts of Dan Wolking, John Kunkler, Riley Tolen, Ricky Haller, Richard Guzzi, Earl Reed, Joey Clark and Brian Howard.

When we talk about our clients here at Shook, we refer to them as our partners. When a firm makes the decision to hire Shook, it is not simply to work with us on the construction or renovation of their facility; it is to become their partner and a long-time contributor to the continued success of their organization. We do this by being a good steward of their financial resources, developing a construction schedule that meets the requirements of their business plan and managing their risk throughout the process.

We also serve as their partner by supporting them philanthropically with our time, talent and treasure. We donate our time through volunteer efforts, our talent by including their messaging in our own marketing and communications efforts and our treasure in the form of financial support. We have been fortunate to remain a strong and stable organization for nearly 90 years. We recognize that one of the most critical ingredients in our success is that our clients are able to enjoy that same strength and stability, and over time, growth. As a partner, anything that we at Shook can do to contribute to our client's success in some small way is a significant contribution to the success of our own business plan.

With that in mind, you'll notice in the body of this eNewsletter a number of events that directly support Shook partners. If your organization shares a relationship with any of these great institutions, either as a client or simply a fellow member of your community, I encourage you to consider supporting their efforts.
