Hootenanny! Sunday at Boundary Bay!

Third Annual Hootenanny to Benefit the Co-op Farm Fund
Sunday, September 6 (Labor Day weekend)
6 to 9:30 pm
$5 to $20 donation; All ages welcome
Co-hosted by Community Food Co-op and Sustainable Connections

The Hootenanny is back! Come on down, kick up your heels, and enjoy some rollicking live music, square dancing, farmer recognition and awards, and Boundary Bay Brewery beer and barbecue -- all to benefit the Community Food Co-op Farm Fund and celebrate Eat Local Month! 100% of proceeds directly benefit sustainable, organic food and farming projects in Whatcom and Skagit counties.

6 pm: Doors open.
6:30-7:30 pm: Square dance with caller John Hatten and "The Great Big Taters." Join in or enjoy from the sidelines.
7:30-8 pm: Farmer recognition and awards.
8-9:30 pm: Dance to The Penny Stinkers!
All night: Cool Farm Fund swag for sale; custom on-site screen printing!

The Co-op is accepting donations on behalf of the Tonasket/Okanogan Valley Lion's Club for fire relief.

The region was hard hit during the largest wildfire in Washington history.

Donate your patronage dividend, or contribute at any Co-op register, ICU branch, or online. Right now all donations will be matched by the Whatcom Community Foundation!

And whenever you shop at the Co-op, look for the "local" icon to support local farmers and food producers.

Celebrate Eat Local Month in September

We're excited to be part of Eat Local Month again this year! Join the fun!
1. Pick up a passport at the service desk of either store and get a stamp each time you purchase at least $10 of local food at the Co-op. Get another stamp when you attend the Hootenanny on September 6.
2. Visit us when you stop by Cascadia Mushroom Farm during the Whatcom County Farm Tour on Saturday, September 12.
3. Celebrate food literacy at "Readers to Eaters" at Village Books at 4 pm Wednesday, September 23.
4. Donate to the Farm Fund anytime during September when you eat out at participating Eat Local Month restaurants.
