April is going to be a fun month. There are so many events to look forward to (see details in the newsletter below): opening day at the Bellingham Farmers Market, Easter, Earth Day, great movies coming to the Pickford Film Center, and so much more.

On this celebrated First Day of April, we're excited to announce that our new Co-op Connections Building will host the first human-sized BellingHamster Wheel in Downtown Bellingham! The wheel will power our organic espresso bar in the new grab-n-go cafe, so get ready to climb aboard and run for your human-powered latte.

Happy APRIL 1st, Bellinghamsters!

(PS: Learn the real scoop about the BellinghHamster Wheel! No foolin'!)

DIY
Egg Dyeing Fun, Naturally!

We have found some fun resources for folks who are interested in dyeing eggs, but aren't interested in the artificial colors included in commercial egg dyeing kits. Stonger Together has a useful guide to creating beautiful Naturally Dyed Eggs. And this fun video tutorial about dyeing eggs using silk cloth has been making the rounds on social media.

HOLIDAY SPECIALTIES
For Your Easter Dinner, Naturally!

The Co-op meat departments are offering Beeler's Pure Pork products for Easter. Beeler's Pure Pork contains absolutely no antibiotics, hormones, sodium nitrite, or nitrates. Animals are fed a strictly vegetarian diet and raised with compassion. There are no gestation crates on the farm, and sows have plenty of space to socialize and to root and nest in deeply bedded pens.

Bone-In Ham $4.99/pound
Bone-In Spiral Sliced Ham $5.99/pound
Boneless Spiral Sliced Ham $7.99/pound

Of course, the Co-op also has plenty of adorable spring-themed cupcakes and other bakery goodies, lovely floral bouquets, specialty cheeses, and other great selections in every department in our stores.

RECIPE
Super Simple Glazed Ham
by Kayb on Food 52
Now that you've purchased the Beeler's ham from the Co-op meat department, we figured you'd need a recipe to make it really shine. The editors of Food 52 said this recipe is a classic glaze, but instead of hitting you over the head with sugar, Kayb balances the sweetness with grainy and ground mustards and a healthy splash of bourbon.
