Mudslide Disaster Relief Donations

The Co-op is accepting donations at our registers for the American Red Cross Snohomish County Chapter to support disaster relief for our southern neighbors as they work to recover from the devastating mudslide on Saturday, March 22.

The need for assistance is great, as so many families were affected by this tragic event. Thank you for donating!
Cheese of the Month
Le Pommier Brie
Sale price $15.99/pound ($2 off regular price)

For too long Americans have had to suffer with bland Brie that is nothing like what's available in France. Thanks to renowned Affinuer, Herve Mons, now we can enjoy a Brie with a true French flavor profile. Every step of the production, from the finest quality milk to the right cultures, has been worked out by Herve to produce the first Brie in the U.S. that really tastes like Brie. Low temperature pasteurization allows more flavor development that is often associated with a raw milk Brie. Offers complex and rich garlic, mushroom, and earthy notes.

Naturally Dyed Eggs

Pass up the conventional egg dyeing kits, and learn how to dye your eggs using natural ingredients!

This handy online guide also includes tips and techniques to create special effects to make your eggs a one-of-a-kind masterpiece.

Need some new ideas to use up all those hard-boiled eggs? The Co+op Stronger Together website also offers recipe suggestions (click on the "recipes" tab) that add extra pizzazz to your deviled eggs.
Are You Missing Us on Facebook?

Even if you have already "liked" the Co-op's Facebook page, it is likely that you are missing out on many of our Facebook status updates. But, fear not. There are a few ways to make sure you don't miss any exciting news or offers from the Co-op.

1. Get Notifications: Navigate to our Facebook page and use the drop-down menu under "Liked" to click on "Get Notifications." Then you'll get a notification under the globe icon every time we post. Don't worry, we generally post no more than once a day.

2. Pages Feed: In the PAGES section of the left rail of your home page you can click on "Pages Feed" and see status updates from ALL the pages you have "liked." You might be amazed to see how much you're missing from some of your favorite pages!

3. Visit our Facebook page and scroll down to see what you may have missed.

4. Interact regularly with our page. Though this is not the most reliable method, it really helps us A LOT. When you like, comment, and share our status updates it increases our reach to everyone who has "liked" our page.

These tips will be increasingly handy to stay current on all the pages you have liked, as Facebook continues to implement changes to organic reach. (We love that they think their reach is organic!) So, don't miss out--because we miss you!!
Painted Stone Garden Markers

We love this DIY project on the Garden Therapy blog. It's a great project for any age, and such a colorfully charming way to replace drab plastic plant markers that fade or break before the end of gardening season.

Gather up your craft supplies, your gardening buddies, and your creativity, and get painting (and planting)!

The Future of Agriculture--
Seed Saving

Deep below the Arctic ice lies the Svalbard Global Seed Vault. After other seed banks suffered devastating losses, due to a variety of issues, the vault was started as a secure resource to preserve worldwide genetic seed diversity. Many people believe that saving the genetic history and diversity of food crop seed may be the single most important thing we can do to ensure future resiliency of our food supply in the face of climate change.

Can't build an impenetrable seed vault on your property, but still want to do something to help save seed? Participate in the vital work of seed saving right in your home garden! Krista Rome, of the Backyard Beans & Grains Project, is hosting a Non-GMO Corn Preservation Project information session at the Cordata store on April 24. Register for the class and learn how you can help steward organic non-GMO grain corn.
