This year CVEP has a very unique opportunity as a sponsor and benefactor of the Humana Challenge.  CVEP is hosting the Summit Club at the 18th hole and we are inviting you to participate in the Humana Challenge from these phenomenal, up close and personal seats. This is a great opportunity to network with other businesses, entertain clients, or for a family outing to enjoy the great game of golf.  A portion of these proceeds will be dedicated to CVEP efforts.

 This week Tom has been very busy signing checks for our very deserving CVEP Scholars.   He signed a total of 134 checks amounting over $262,000, which have been sent to students for Winter/Spring quarters.  This is a part of CVEP's overall scholarships awarded for the 2012/13 school year which amounts to over $1.7 million.  Congratulations to our CVEP scholars -  you make us proud!  

This past December over 500 people participated in a Riverside County Job Fair, coming from as far away as Texas, which assisted Canadian companies in locating various skill level construction workers.  Canada, Riverside County's #1 trading partner, was looking to fill over 350,000 construction jobs.  The Valley's construction industry continues to struggle with high unemployment numbers; some of these participants in the Job Fair haven't had a steady job in nearly 5 years.   To date 150 of these workers who showed up at the Job Fair have been hired, with another 40 to be hired in the next two weeks.  These jobs offer great pay, benefits, travel and moving expenses, housing and meals.  Most of the workers are taking these jobs with the intent to return to the valley when the contracts are complete.
