BIG NEWS for the CViHub

This week the Palm Springs City Council unanimously approved funds for the new Accelerator Campus to offer green-tech start-ups a low-cost manufacturing space on land at the Palm Springs International Airport. Game Change Panelists Announced for Next Week's Economic Summit    

This week CVEP announced an accomplished panel of speakers slated to join National Economic Advisor Brian McGowan and Economist John Husing, Ph.D. as featured presenters at the Annual Economic Summit, the Valley's largest event focusing on the state of the local economy as well as the projected future for the desert's key industries and business community. The "Game Changers" panel made up of local executives will give their take on how key events and other economic dynamics are affecting their businesses. The panel will be moderated by Kris Long, CBS Local 2 news anchor.   The "Game Changers" Panel will include Steve Cenicola General Manager, BIGHORN Golf Club, Raymond Moore, Chief Executive Officer, Indian Wells Tennis Garden/BNB Paribas Open, Blake Miraglia, Principal member The Thermal Club and and Bob Marra, Board of Directors member, Humana Challenge.  This stellar group of panelists will enhance the already very exciting itinerary we have planned for this year's Economic Summit. It's time for a game change!

Business Collaborative Launches Technology Workshop Series for Latino Business Owners

CVEP is part of a collaborative of business support service providers will launch a technology workshop series for Latino business owners on Saturday, October 27th at 8:00 a.m. at the UC Riverside, Palm Desert Center. Known as LanzaTech (or Tech Launch), the technology workshop series will provide an overview of basic technologies for businesses and facilitate skill building and training in the use of technologies designed to increase efficiencies for business owners. LanzaTech is part of a regional economic development strategy to increase support for the growing Latino business sector in the Coachella Valley.  With funding provided by the Business & Entrepreneurship Center (BEC) of Rancho Santiago Community College District (RSCCD) and the Coachella Valley Small Business Development Center (CVSBDC), LanzaTech has been formed in partnership with the Coachella Valley Mexican American Chamber of Commerce (CVMACC), CVEP, Coachella Valley Women's Business Center (CVWBC), Coachella Valley Enterprise Zone (CVEZA) and College of the Desert (COD). Services offered to Latino business owners will be facilitated in both English and Spanish, and include business advising for entrepreneurs.   For more information click here
