Happy Thanksgiving from Family Network on Disabilities

FND Central Office Staff prepares to eat!

We hope that you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday, with much to be thankful for. We at FND are thankful for the support of our community and donors and that we are able to provide information, training, and resources to Florida's families.

FND Executive Director, Rich La Belle, and his wife, former FND Executive Director, Jan La Belle

The Central Office staff hosted our annual Thanksgiving Potluck, which is not your traditional Thanksgiving feast. Family Network has a very culturally diverse staff and we take opportunities, like Thanksgiving, to celebrate not only our diversity, but also that of our community, state, and nation.

This year's feast consisted of pork, black beans and rice, ham, scalloped potatoes, crepes, cheesecake, Baklava, and much more!

Just some of the goodies that staff contributed for lunch!

Thank you all for all you do. Please know that we are always here for you!

Misti Pollaro

Administrative Assistant

Misti Pollaro is the Administrative Assistant for POPIN (Parents of the Panhandle Information Network) and Family STAR (Support, Training, Assistance and Resources). Misti began working at FND in March of 2011 and even though working with families who have members with disabilities is new to her, living with it is not. She is a single mom of three boys, ages 20, 10 and 8, all with disabilities.

Misti felt like she was in a losing battle until she walked into FND as a volunteer when she found herself unemployed. Misti feels that her work at FND is the best thing that ever happened to her family, not only because she gained employment, but because she also gained access to the information and resources she needs to make sure her boys get all they deserve and to become the best they can be.

At FND, we are thankful for Misti's support and dedication!
