Mid Summer 2015!
Shades, draperies, shutters, motorization and more!
Stunning, custom window treatments for your home at very competitive prices!

Greetings!

Massachusetts tax free weekend this year is August 15th & 16th!  It's a great time to take advantage of the savings on custom window treatment purchases up to $2500.   If you have been thinking about finishing some windows in your home or office with draperies, shutters, shading systems or blinds this is a good time to consult with me on your options.

This issue of my newsletter exhibits a variety of the window treatments and custom soft treatments that VWD repeat clients have added to their homes recently.  Do some of these photos inspire you??   We utilize different professional workrooms depending on what is being made. For instance, the stunning custom bedding in Duxbury, the bolster & chair cushion as well as the traversing draperies in Mashpee were beautifully fabricated by our local, professional workroom; whereas the cordless roman shade in Mashpee was fabricated in Illinois.  We source your orders based on the best quality and the best price possible.  My ten years of experience benefits all VWD clients.

Cheers,
Jane Wallace

Cape House Project
Before

Mary's Bedroom Before : Inspired by a photo on Houzz, these long-time clients of mine were ready to redecorate a bedroom in their stunning, Mashpee 'Cape House'.

After

My apologies for the dark photo, but this duvet cover and the shams with a perky, fresh colorway which were featured in the Houzz photo were purchased to get the project started.

Although my task was to source some spring green fabrics for the window treatments, my clients fell in love with a Robert Allen embroidered blue on white fabric that I had included in the choices.

The desire for room darkening was successfully achieved by leaving the horizontal blinds on the large window and adding interlining to the traversing drapery as well as the roman shade

An adorable Samuel & Sons tassle trim was found to accent the roman shade valance, tying the colors of the room together.

One of the Thibaut spring green ikat patterns I presented was chosen for a bolster and a chair cushion.  The Sam & Sons lip cord trim in the blue/green collection is a beautiful finishing detail.

A work in Progress- Duxbury

The master bed before.

A Work in Progress

The magnificent Beacon Hill, Highland Court and Kravet fabrics as well as the Samuel & Sons trims chosen for this bedding create an oasis of luxury on this gorgeous, new master bed suggested by Karin Doolin, Interior Designer & Owner of The Heritage House in Hingham.  The flanged euro pillows, shams with picture frame lattice banding, ikat patterned Bolster and double-sided coverlet create a soothing pallet of lavender, sea glass and taupe.  On the reverse side of the coverlet is the taupe velvet used on the upholstered headboard & footboard.  To be added to the bedding is a tailored bed skirt and Karin will be advising on lamps and an upholstered chair to complement her side tables and trunk.   More photos to come in the next issue!

Client's comment: "Looks good.  Thanks for everything!"

Bunk Rooms in a Chatham Beach House

The boys' bunkroom before Natural Roman Shades

After-  Simple, cordless, white natural roman shades and a top down/bottom up shade toward the ocean give total privacy AND preserve the ocean view.   Perfect choice.

The girls' bunkroom before Natural Roman Shades

The same natural shades are absolutely perfect to maintain the spectacular ocean view while providing necessary privacy.

And who would want to lose this inspiring view from the bathroom?   The perfect application for a top down/bottom up roman shade.  Only the seagulls will have peeks into the room!

Beach House owner: "Gorgeous!  I love the treatments. Thanks again!"
Custom Condo in a Marshfield Hills Antique

Recognize this quintessential New England Village landmark?

One lucky neighborhood family wanted to replicate their favorite downstairs shutters in their upstairs bedrooms to improve the exterior 'look' of the house while gaining privacy.  The addition of natural roman shades that drop to the top of the caf shutters feature the benefit of room darkening.
