(Spain) Locations E2 NV
 Bottle $21.99 15% off mix 6+ $18.69
Solid Case Special $17.59 20% off
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate 93 Points" I reviewed these Locations offerings from Dave Phinney of Orin-Swift Cellars last year, who is going against all conventional wisdom of vineyard and vintage dating wines. Terroirists will claim the devil has possessed Phinney, as his offerings from France, Italy and Spain are all blends from different sectors of each country. If you judge wines on how they taste and the degree of pleasure they offer, they are all incredible efforts. The three new cuvees I tasted are among the finest wine values one could hope to find. Moreover there are 50,000 cases of each, no easy feat given the grapes Phinney has accessed and the quality he has turned out. As of now, Dave Phinney might be my "value winemaker of the year" candidate. P.S. It's too expensive for this report, but I am including it as an hommage to what Dave Phinney has achieved. If there are better wines for under $20 a bottle in the world today, please share that information with The Wine Advocate. These are all remarkable efforts. Kudos to Dave Phinney! The 2011 Orin-Swift D66 VdP Cotes Catalanes, a blend of 80% Grenache, 12% Syrah and 8% Carignan (from 60- to 100-year-old vines), comes from the schist and limestone soils around the village of Maury. Aged in 100% French oak (25% new), this 10,000-case cuvee retails for around $43 a bottle, but I suspect discounters will offer it in the mid- to -upper $30 range. This black/ruby/purple-colored wine boasts a terrific perfume of creosote, camphor, charcoal, blackberries, acacia flowers and truffles. Full-bodied and opulent, this is a prodigious effort from the Cotes Catalanes. Even at its full retail price of $43, it represents a striking bargain."

 (Argentina) Locations AR3 NV

Solid Case Special $17.59 20% off
Ruby red in complexion, the wine bursts with aromas of cassis, lavender, blueberry, and a subtle hint of cedar box. In the glass, it opens to reveal a dense mix of dark fruit flavors, currant, and crushed raspberry complimented with a nice floral lift. Tannins with soft definition provide for a pleasing and weighty finish. Drink now to 2020.

 (France/Rhone) Locations F2 NV
 Bottle $21.99 15% off mix 6+ $18.69
Solid Case Special $17.59 20% off
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate 91 Points "The Non-Vintage Locations F-2 French Red Wine is all from the 2012 vintage and is a blend of Grenache from the Roussillon, Syrah from the Rhone Valley and assorted Bordeaux varieties. It was fermented in large oak vats and aged in barrel for ten months prior to bottling. A dense ruby/purple color is followed by a big, sweet kiss of licorice, black currants and camphor. Deep, full-bodied and ripe (but not over-ripe), it possesses good freshness, vibrancy and delineation as well as a juicy, in-your-face style. These wines are all meant to be drunk upon release, but enough stuffing is present that they should evolve for 4-5 years. "

(Italy) Locations I3 NV

Solid Case Special $17.59 20% off
Composed of Nero D'Avola and Negroamaro from Puglia, Barbera from Piedmont, and a small percentage of Sangiovese from Tuscany, Revealing an attractive color spectrum of crimson and scarlet with a slight magenta band on the rim, the wine explodes with aromas of macerated raspberries, dried lavender, plum tart, and toasty oak accents. The palate is immediately hit with super lush flavors of ripe berries and spice, supported with a dense core that has just the right amount of characteristic acidity. The tannins are already velvety and soft which provide for a lingering finish with hints of minerality and some herbal notes. Drink now to 2018.

(California) The Blindfold White Blend 2013
Bottle $39.99     15% off mix 6+ $33.99
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate 90 Points " A blend of 30% Chardonnay, 20% Viognier, 20% Roussanne and the balance Grenache Blanc, Chenin Blanc and a few other grapes, the 2013 Proprietary White Blindfold is close in quality to the brilliant 2012 I reviewed last year. Reminiscent of some of Sine Qua Non's white wines from California's Central Coast, the 2013 is more zesty, and plays it closer to the vest, but it offers lovely notes of fresh pineapple, tangerine skins, orange marmalade, melon and honeysuckle. I wish more California wineries would consider using such innovative blends as this given the high quality that can result. This beauty should be enjoyed over the next several years."
Created to provide the perfect white wine companion to The Prisoner, Blindfold is bold and intriguing. In establishing our own spin on a white blend, winemaker Jen Beloz and her team sought out interesting Rhône and aromatic varietals that would nicely compliment a classic Chardonnay base. Through partnering with growers who are dedicated to cultivating alternative varietals in their outstanding vineyards throughout California, the result is a wine that is complex and delicious.

(California) The Prisoner Wine Company Saldo Zinfandel 2013
 Bottle $39.99     15% off mix 6+ $33.99
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate 90 Points "The 2013 Saldo (a Latin word for "from here and there") actually comes from multiple AVAs in Northern California - Amador, Mendocino, Contra Costa, as well as Napa and Sonoma. One hundred percent Zinfandel, it displays briary, peppery, meaty notes, some Provençal herbs, black cherry and black currant fruit. It also offers some underlying, meaty earthiness and is a long, lusty wine that should drink well for another 3-4 years. "
(California) The Prisoner Napa Valley Red Wine 2014
Bottle $44.99     15% off mix 6 $38.24
Last vintage was 93 Points Parker and this has been consistently outstanding and this vintage is just plain sumptuous, luscious, opulent and is the kind of red that once you taste it you will fall in love with it. Many of you already have! This full bodied red offers rich blackberry and vanilla aromas with deep concentrated flavors that are perfectly balanced on a long savory aftertaste. Drink now to 2022. Grab some while you can!
To make The Prisoner, grapes are sources from more than 80 vineyards throughout Napa Valley's premier wine-growing region. Jen Beloz, winemaker, spends much of her time collaborating with the family of growers, visiting each of their vineyard sites and carefully assessing the style and quality of each lot to make the best possible wine for that vintage. This amazing wine is a blend of Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Petite Syrah and Grenache. The wine features deep purple hues, enticing aromas of briar fruits and dried cherry are accented by hints of vanilla and toasted oak. On the palate, tiers of blueberry, ripe mulberry and boysenberry give way to an edge of espresso, cracked pepper and a seasoning of fall spice. These dense aromas and flavors culminate in a lingering finish framed by refined tannins on the smooth and luscious finish. Drink now to 2022.
