Hot Buy! We were blown away when we tasted this inexpensive Aussie Cab as it was not what we expected. Most wines in this price range from Australia would be fruit bombs. Not this Cab, it offers dark cherry and spicebox aromas and flavors, rich medium bodied red with integrated tannins giving it very nice backbone and structure. Decant this red to drink now to 2018. Serious bang for the buck here.

Wine Review Online 92 Points Angel's Secret Petite Sirah is "dark as the night" and boasts savory aromas of ripe, dark berries (blackberry, boysenberry and raspberry), violets, and ripe plum, with a hint of roast game and spice. Abundant fruit flavors in this well-structured wine are nicely integrated with toasted oak and a touch of black licorice. A small amount of Merlot was added to soften the Petite Sirah and add complexity, without taking away from the varietal character of wine. It has great weight on the palate, but the tannins are certainly approachable in this well- balanced wine, with a long, pleasing finish. Drink now through 2016.

Fermented and then aged for eighteen months in mainly new French oak barrels, the Castle Rock Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon is a deliciously full wine loaded with nuance and flavor. It is a deep garnet in color, and has aromas of dark cherry and molasses. On the palate it gives more dark berry and plum fruit flavors with a hint of cedar. The tannins are mellow, and it finishes harmoniously with long-lasting fruit flavors. It is perfect for drinking now, or it can be allowed to age and improve through 2017. This has a hint of reduction on the initial nose that gives it a true Burgundian character. Grapes have been hand-picked at night since the 2007 vintage, then whole- cluster pressed and aged in French oak barrels. This is rich and round in the mid-palate, with streaks of crème brulée and candied lemon, but twists of lemon-lime on the finish. Great value for this level of quality.
