White Wines

Leon Vatan Sauvignon Val De Loire 2014

Bottle $13.99 10% off mix 6 $12.59 15% off mix 12 $11.89
This style is more fruit forward than Sancerre, bright fresh fruit aromas and loads of grapefruit and passionfruit flavors. If you like the New Zealand style this would be a good one to try. Drink now to 2017.

Henri Bourgeois Les Baronnes Sancerre Blanc 2014

Bottle $24.99 10% off mix 6 $22.49 15% off mix 12 $21.24

Previous vintage was 90 Parker and this wine mirrors that in style and complexity. Authentic, pure, elegant lime green and white fruit aromas and flavors, zesty yet also polished and perfectly balanced citrus minerally finish. This wine is sourced from chalky clay soils of the hills separating Sancerre from Chavignol and is made from 20-to 40-year-old vines. Drink now to 2018.

Roland Tissier Sancerre 2014

Bottle $25.99 10% off mix 6 $23.39 15% off mix 12 $22.09

Another outstanding value from Sancerre! Offering citrus, chalk, lemon lime zest balanced medium bodied flavors are elegant with minerals and grapefruit notes on the crisp clean finish. Drink now to 2018.

Henri Bourgeois La Cote Des Monts Damnes Sancerre 2013
Reg. Bottle $33.99  10% off mix 6 $30.59 15% off mix 12 $28.89
From the most famous Cru in Sancerre, this is brilliant Sauvignon Blanc. Big aroms of white citrus, stone fruit, dusty flint, and a hint of herb.  On the palate, there's more than enough richness to balance the sizzling cut and brightness to the white grapefruit, lemon, green melon, and lime zest fruit and generous dose of crushed Loire Valley stone.  Full-bodied, but still light on its feet with a long, mouthwatering, lingering, finish.  Drink now to 2018. One of my favorite all time whites!

Domaines De Baumard Quarts De Chaume 2010

Bottle $79.99 10% off mix 6 $71.79   15% off mix 12 $67.99

Wine Spectator 96 Points "Unctuous, concentrated and refined, this holds a large core of quince, creamed Anjou pear and white ginger notes in reserve for now, while heather, chamomile, orange blossom and white peach flavors take the lead. When the reserves stretch out and catch up with the floral accents, this will be a pure, precise stunner, with a long life. Best from 2018 through 2035."

Domaines De Baumard Savennieres Clos du Papillon 2009

Bottle $37.99 10% off mix 6 $34.19   15% off mix 12 $32.29
93 points Wine Spectator"Captivating, with a lively quinine streak leading the way, followed by Jonagold apple, honeysuckle, green almond and plantain notes that race through the pure, mineral-driven finish. Intense, with enough in reserve to warrant cellaring. Best from 2014 through 2020. 300 cases imported. "
91 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate "Tasted as an approximation to the eventual assemblage, Baumard's 2009 Savennieres Clos du Papillon presents a plush, soothing yet by no means heavy overall impression, reflecting both the nature of the vintage with its relatively low total acidity and the extent to which already low-malic acid material underwent malo-lactic fermentation. (In any given vintage, Baumard's Savennieres is almost never if at all 100% malo or non-malo.) Almond and walnut oil mingle with quince, while decadent floral perfume wafts all the way through to a buoyant finish nonetheless underlain by the anticipated wet stone. There is a leesy richness here enlivened by hints of fresh lime, and well-integrated quinine and fruit pit notes that don't turn outright bitter. This should be a handsome Savennieres for 6-8 years' keeping, but in its own way - and like the corresponding 2008 - not one of those that demands cellaring."

Domaines De Baumard Savennieres 2011

Bottle $24.99    10% off mix 6 $22.49    15% off mix 12 $21.24
Wine Spectator 90 Points"This has a nice caressing feel, with quince, Anjou pear, crème fraîche and green plum notes that all glide through the pure, minerally-framed finish. An echo of quinine adds length." Drink now to 2017.
Winemaker's Notes "Savennieres is a tiny region located on the northern banks of the Loire River, just across from the town of Rochefort Sur Loire. The entire appellation consists of fewer than 200 acres of vines, all planted to Chenin Blanc. The South/Southeast facing vineyards are planted on unique soils composed of schistous volcanic debris mixedwith sandstone and granite, imparting a strong, intensely original minerality to the Chenin Blanc grape. The combination of this concentration with the naturally high acidity of the Chenin Blanc grape results in wines capable of lasting and improving fordecades."

Reds

(Loire) Domaine Maison Cheverny Rouge 2011
Reg. $17.99  10% off mix 6 $16.19   15% off mix 12 $15.29
This is a delicious blend of 60% Pinot Noir and 40 % Gamay and is a perfect summer red! Offering rich medium bodied aromas and flavors with earthy strawberry and hint of forest with beautiful pure strawberry and red raspberry coming through on the palate, nice balanced soft tannin finish. Drink not through 2017.

Bandol

Domaine Maubernard Bandol Rouge 2011
Reg. $31.99  10% off mix 6 $28.79  15% off Mix 12 $27.19
A powerful, complex wine with lots of ageing potential, Maubernard's Bandol offers stunning value for money in Provence's best red wine appellation.  Full-bodied, bold, spicy red; dark fruit flavours and excellent structure with fine tannins.  Maubernard's Bandol is very reasonably priced for such a complex, potentially long-lived wine.  Predominantly Mourvèdre, with 10% Grenache from Bandol, Provence's best red wine appellation.  Good to drink on release but can age and improve for 10 years

Domaine Maubernard Bandol Rouge 2009
Reg. $39.99  10% off mix 6 $35.99  15% off Mix 12 $33.99
is an amazing wine for the money - young but approachable with lovely earthy leathery pressed fruit characteristics and fine, firm texture. Really grown-up and food-friendly.  Drink now to 2020.  Predominantly Mourvèdre, with 10% Grenache

Pibarnon Bandol 2010
Reg. $55.99  10% off mix 6 $50.39  15% off Mix 12 $47.59
94 pts Robert Parker 's Wine Advocate"Moving to the classic cuvee and even more impressive (it was one of the top wines I was able to taste for this report), the 2010 Bandol, which is over 90% Mourvedre, sees partial destemming and aging in oak casks, offers both gorgeous aromatic complexity and superb richness and depth on the palate. Giving up notions of pepper, Provencal herbs, underbrush and leather, with a solid core of dark fruit, this medium to full-bodied, pure, layered and beautifully balanced effort needs another 2-3 years of bottle age, and will easily keep for a decade or more past that.  Run by the Saint-Victor family since 1975, Chateau Pibarnon lies in the northern part of the appellation and consists of steep, terraced slopes and unique blue marl and limestone soils. The wines are gorgeous and offer classic examples of the appellation." Drink now to 2020.
Pibarnon Restanques Bandol 2010
Reg. $35.99  10% off mix 6 $32.29  15% off Mix 12 $30.59
91 pts Robert Parker 's Wine Advocate "The entry level red Bandol, the 2010 Bandol Les Restanque de Pibarnon (70% Mourvedre and 30% Grenache) is a superb effort that surpasses a number of estates' top wines. More forward and ready to go than their traditional cuvee, it is medium to full-bodied, rich and layered, with fabulous red fruits, currants, spice box and potpourri-like aromas and flavors all emerging from the glass. While the overall impression here is upfront and fruit-driven, it has good acidity and fine tannin, so I wouldn't be surprised to see it evolve gracefully. Enjoy it over the coming 7-10 years or so."
