The Wines

Whites

(Italy) Colavita Verdicchio 2012

Reg. $12.99 Now $9.99 Save 25%

a dry white wine, DOC from the Marche region of central Italy, is one of Italy's very top white wines. The vineyards are located at an altitude of 400 meters on slopes that form part of the Apennines. The landscape is varied and undulating. Many of the hills are crowned with castles that were constructed between the 12th and 14th centuries. The wine is noted for its fresh fragrant and harmonious character. It shows fine balance and structure and has great complexity when aged for several years. As it ages, it becomes more full bodied and has softer acidity than the younger Verdicchio wines. The subtle Verdicchio flavors and delicate aromas allow it to pair very well with a variety of foods. Enjoy it with oysters, salt crusted fish, prosciutto and Caprese salad.

(Italy) Prunotto Roero Arneis 2012

Reg. $23.99 Now $16.99 Save 30%

(Italy) Rocco Vermentino Occhio 2012

Reg. $16.99 Now $11.99 Save 30%

Wine Enthusiast 87 Points Best Buy! Easy-drinking Vermentino that shows very crisp aromas of cut grass, kiwi, citrus, green apple and peach. There's a nice touch of mineral dryness on the finish. Drink now.

(California) Twomey Cellars Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc by Silver Oak 2013

Reg. $29.99 Now $19.99 Save 33%

Wilfred Wong 92 Points "One of California's top Sauvignon Blancs! Excellent dried citrus in the aromas, zesty and active on the palate, well balanced; delivers dried citrus and savory herbs in the flavors; long and bright in the finish."

Reds

(California) Estancia Meritage Red 2011 (Limited)

Reg $29.99  now $17.99 Save 40%

Blend: 56% Cabernet Sauvignon, 32% Merlot, 9% Petit Verdot, 3% Malbec

Vibrant aromas, dark black cherries with hints of anise, rosemary and sage. Accents of chocolate powder and soft oak.   Intense flavors of chocolate dipped black fruit, accompanied by notes of sweet oak. Wonderfully structured ripe tannins lead to a nice long, fruit driven finish.

(California) Four Vines Zinfandel Port 375ml 2008

Reg. $17.99 Now $13.49 Save 25%

A sensual delight... Zinfandel left on the vine to maximum ripeness. Fermented slowly until 10 Brix and then added two year oak aged brandy to stop the fermentation. Aged in small French oak barrels for 20 months. Layers of brown sugar, pumpkin spice, nutty pecan, maple cranberry and fleshy nectarine. Very light on the palate. This Zinfandel Port will seduce you.

(Tuscany) Volpaia Chianti Classico 2011

Reg. $22.99 Now $15.99 Save 30%

Vinous / Antonio Galloni 89 Points -"A pretty, silky wine, Volpaia's 2011 Chianti Classico is laced with red cherries, crushed flowers, tobacco and cedar. The 2011 can be enjoyed today or cellared for at least a handful of years. There is plenty of vintage 2011 raciness in the glass."

(Tuscany) Banfi Rosso di Montalcino 2011

Reg $24.99 Now $17.99 Save 28%

Tanzer 90 Points International Wine Cellar- "Dark ruby-red. Balsamic vanilla complements ripe dark plum and blueberry syrup on the nose. Rich, dense and suave, with a cherry cola quality to the ripe dark fruit and herbal flavors. Finishes long and very clean, with rising, slightly drying tannins, but there's so much fruit here that the tannins don't dominate. This richer, riper style of Rosso may have been just a little too extracted, but I think it will have quite a few fans. "

(Tuscany) Volpaia Prelius Indue Vineyard Blend 2008 (Organic)

Reg. $27.99 Now $19.99 Save 30%

Indue," the Italian word for "the two of us," expresses the heart and soul of this wine. It is the joint effort of brother and sister duo, Nicoḷ and Federica Mascheroni Stianti; the marriage of two properties, Castello di Volpaia and Prelius; and the blending of two grape varieties, Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon. Representing the character and personality of the two siblings and the respective properties they each nurture, Indue is the best of both. The best lots are selected from Volpaia and Prelius, vinified separately and aged in French oak barriques and tonneaux. The wines are aged on the lees for eight months, undergoing constant battonage. The blend is then made from the best of the best and put back into barrel to age for 12 months. It is then bottled and aged an additional 12 months before release.

Tasting Notes -Indue has a deep ruby color with light shades of violet. The nose is aromatic with great elegance: initially there are notes of cherries and plums, then hints of clove, wood and mineral graphite. In the mouth the wine is big, juicy and rich and always characterized by elegance and finesse. 50% Sangiovese, 50% Cabernet Sauvignon

(California) Roth Heritage Red Blend 2011

Reg. $32.99 Now $22.99 Save 30%

Wine Enthusiast 88 Points A proprietary blend of Zinfandel and Malbec, with smaller parts Merlot, Petite Sirah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah, Heritage is powerful and soft. It's awash in blueberry, red plum and vanilla, all verging on superripe, the finish particularly intense." Drink now to 2017.

(California) Sonoma Hill Russian River Pinot Noir 2012

Reg. $25.99 Now $17.99 Save 30%

Classic Russian River Pinot! Bright Strawberry and red raspberry aromas, rich medium bodied flavors are balanced with a rich mouthfeel and a long smooth finish. Drink now to 2017.

(California) Chalk Hill Sonoma Pinot Noir 2012

Reg. $27.99 Now $19.99 Save 30%

The 2012 Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir is medium ruby in color and displays expressive fruit aromas of forward Bing cherry, cranberry, espresso, toasty oak, and damp forest floor earthiness. The palate is bright and full of cherry fruit with sandalwood and cedar overtones. The finish on this Pinot is soft with earthiness typically found in Carneros Pinots, mocha, and lingering flavors of oriental spice.

(California) Ferrari Carano Anderson Valley Pinot Noir 2012

Reg. $37.99 Now $22.99 Save 40%

Wine Enthusiast 93 Points "Smooth, harmonious and seductive, this full-bodied but elegantly structured Pinot has deep red color and lots of fresh, ripe fruit flavor. It offers a texture as smooth as silk and a finish that lingers for 30 seconds. Vibrant acidity and firm tannins help to keep it fresh and vital. Enjoy now through 2018."

(France/Bordeaux) Chateau Haut-Beausejour Saint-Estephe 2011

Reg. $37.99 Now $22.99 Save 40%

Wine Enthusiast 92 Points "This is a modern, polished wine, solidly packed with dark tannins and dense fruits. A tough, tannic element shows through strongly, giving a counterpoint to the acidiy. Drink from 2017." RHWG, this is a powerful red but use your wine clip to decant to enjoy now or cellar short term. Drink now to 2025.

(Bordeaux) Chateau Labegorce Margaux 2011

Reg. $39.99 Now $27.99 Save 30%

Wine Spectator 90 Points"A mix of perfumy floral notes out front is backed by a core of sappy blackberry and plum fruit. Velvety in feel, with an accessible but sneakily long finish. Best from 2015 through 2025."

(Italy) Buglioni Bugiardo Classico Superiore Valpolicella Ripasso 2010 (Limited)

Reg. $44.99 Now $29.99 Save 33%

Tasting Panel 91 Points- "Lush and ripe with concentrated fruit and dense, rich plum and cassis fruit; smooth with notes of chocolate, licorice and spice. 60% Corvina, 25% Corvinone, 10% Rondinella, 5% Molinara."

Winemaker's Notes - Dark ruby-red color. Intense and elegant aromas of ripe fruit and spices with a hint of vanilla and tobacco. Warm, persistent flavors, velvety and harmonious. Irresistible with risotto al Bugiardo (a creamy risotto made using the same Bugiardo wine), braised or grilled meat, the traditional boiled meat dish of Verona, and medium or mature cheeses. Serve at 16 degrees to 18 degrees Celsius (61 degrees to 64 degrees Fahrenheit). Open at least one hour before serving.

(California) Cakebread Carneros Pinot Noir 2010 (Limited)

Reg. $74.99 Now $49.99 Save 33%

Winemaker "This is one of the richest Carneros Pinot Noirs we've made to date. Its lovely, complex nose reveals forward scents of cherry cobbler, red raspberry, plum compote, sandalwood, spearmint, Asian spices and dried herbs. Ripe, juicy and supple on the palate, with fine, ripe tannins, its rich and full-bodied black cherry, raspberry and dark plum flavors pick up a zesty tea-leaf spice tone in the long, full finish. Hard to resist now, this delicious wine will continue developing in bottle for another 3-5 years. "
