Wine Spectator 90 Points "Firm, tight and focused on a rich, muscular band of blackberry, currant and wild berry. The flavors are fresh and vibrant, clean and lingering, even as ripe tannins give the flavors traction. Best from 2015 through 2023. 886 cases made. "

DUCKHORN, Napa Valley Cab Sauv, Patzimaro Vineyard 2003 1.5L

Robert Parkers Wine Advocate 92+ Points "The 2003 Cabernet Sauvignon Patzimaro Vineyard may possess the most opaque purple color of this group. The richest, most youthful of these wines, it exhibits sweet creme de cassis notes intermixed with hints of flowers and background oak. This full-bodied, textured, authoritative effort is a classic Napa Cabernet Sauvignon. Still young, but accessible, it should hit its peak in 3-4 years and evolve for two decades thereafter. 

DUCKHORN, Napa Valley Cab Sauv, Patzimaro Vineyard 2006 1.5L

Robert Parkers Wine Advocate 89+ Points "The finest wine of this group appears to be the 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon Patzimaro Vineyard. It reveals a dense ruby/purple color, attractive aromas of lead pencil shavings, black currants, and loamy soil, good fruit, and an elegant, medium-bodied personality. There are some noticeable tannins, but they are sufficiently balanced. Give this 2006 5-6 years of bottle age, and drink it over the following two decades."

Medium to full-bodied, impressively rich and youthful, it is already showing some secondary nuances. A velvety texture adds to the general opulence of this impressive Cabernet Sauvignon. Full-bodied with supple tannin, and a broad, expansive mouthfeel, it will provide lovely drinking over the next 15+ years.

Robert Parkers Wine Advocate 90 Points    "The dark ruby/plum-tinged 2010 Merlot Carneros reveals a smokier, earthier nose displaying hints of Chinese black tea, vanilla, roasted coffee beans, sweet cherry and plum-like fruit, and a plush, lush finish. It should drink well for a decade."

Full, rich, structured and restrained, it is an exceptional effort of purity, balance, authority and aging potential. It should hit its stride in two more years, and last for 10-12. "

While known for their varietals-Merlot, Sauvignon Blanc and Cabernet Sauvignon, they have created The Discussion to show the supreme artistry of the winemaker's soul. The 2010 The Discussion, made mostly from Cabernet Sauvignon with some Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot is just plain solid. Black fruit, lots of it and some graphite note. We should be enjoying glass with prime rib of beef."

Decanter 91 Points "The 2010 vintage of our flagship wine begins with inviting aromas of raspberry puree and fresh oatmeal cookies. The entry offers an intriguing hint of smoke and peppercorns that carry though to a mid-palate filled with silky tannins and cherry and raspberry flavors. On the finish, oak-inspired overtones of coffee and baking spice mingle with leather and fruit bringing this wine to a long, satisfying conclusion." 

GOLDENEYE, Anderson Valley Pinot Noir, The Narrows Vnyd 2006 1.5L

Connoisseurs' Guide 91 Points - "The Goldeneye four from Duckhorn are more bold and blunt than they are sophisticated or refined, and this wine carries more muscularity than the what one would expect of Pinot Noir. For that point, consumers should be wary if the style is not preferred. But, those who accept its brawn will delight in a wine that has depth and a fair bit of aging potential as well as coming with the stuffing to do yeoman's service with dishes like steak au poivre. "

Full and fleshy in feel, if still a bit astringent on the back end, it is beginning to hint at complexity to come and deserves to be left alone for some three or four more years."

Connoisseurs' Guide 94 Points  - "This deep, impressively extracted version of this perennial CGCW favorite marries well-defined blackberry fruit with a layer of ripe currants, a good dose of sweet oak and touches of milk-chocolate. Its sense of layered richness and it accents of sweet earth speak to classic Napa Valley character, and, thanks to its provenance, its unique mix of grapes and the attention that the Duckhorn folks pay to it, it continues to be a more sophisticated wine than Zinfandel typically yields.
