The two clones of Sauvignon Blanc grapes that make up this delicious 2012 Sauvignon Blanc combine beautifully to create both a nose and pallet that are simply irresistible. 90% of the wine is comprised of Clone 1 Sauvignon Blanc, which imparts aromas of white peach, wet slate and green apple. The addition of 10% Musquee clone Sauvignon Blanc both broadens the mid palate and imparts gentle aromas of paraffin and green banana. The flavors hearken more to Sauvignon Blanc's French forerunners from the Loire. The flavors are a blend of wet shale, key-lime curd, fig, and canary melon, ending with a touch of fluer de sel on the backside. The crisp finish is pleasantly acidic and has a great cut to it, making this a perfect accompaniment to oysters, a soft goat cheese, or prosciutto wrapped honeydew. Nice summer white. The rich, lush and well-structured wine is hearty with exotic fruit characteristics. We prepared the wine in French (50%) and American (50%) oak barrels for 11 months. Blend: 90% Zinfandel, 5% Petite Sirah, 5% Syrah Drink now to 2017.

Robert Parker 92 Points "The Signature Series 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon comes from two estate vineyards they own: the famous Monte Rosso Vineyard and the William Hill Estate Vineyard. This is a cross-valley blend of both Napa and Sonoma fruit. It's 97% Cabernet Sauvignon and 3% Petit Verdot aged 20 months in 60% new oak (40% was French and 20% American) and 40% used barrels. A good wine with 15.3% natural alcohol, it is full-bodied with a dense, ruby/purple color, lots of asphalt, loamy volcanic soil and smoky notes, blueberry and blackberry fruit, a nice touch of camphor and a luscious, heady, slightly tannic mouthfeel and finish. This is serious wine and they produced 5,180 cases. It should age well for 15-20 years." The mix 12 price here is ridiculous for a Napa cab of this quality. Don't miss it.
