There's a sweetness here but this rather brooding, soil-driven wine shows best on the building back end, which throws off notes of redcurrant and iron and finishes with excellent mineral grip. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate 92 Points "The 2012 Pommard 1er Cru Fremiers is 100% whole cluster fruit and the soil here is similar to the Volnay Chevret. It has a more ebullient, vivacious bouquet than the Chaponnieres with exotic touches of kirsch and creme de cassis interlacing the red and black fruit profile. The palate is sensual and rounded on the entry, although those stems lend this Pommard deceptive structure on the "solid" finish. There is a touch of spice at the tip of the tongue lingering long after the wine has departed. Excellent - but give it several years to show what it can do." Drink 2018 to 2030.

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate 93 Points The 2012 Volnay 1er Cru Ronceret lies just under the Champans from Dominique Lafon. It has a rather laconic, blackberry-scented bouquet that will need several years to open up. The palate is full-bodied with good volume and presence, packed to the rafters with blackberry and blueberry fruit and a sinewy, structured finish more reminiscent of a Pommard. The aftertaste is very attractive with hints of Hoi Sin.

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate 94 Points The 2012 Pommard 1er Cru Epenots is entirely de-stemmed and comes from the lieu-dit of "Petit Epenot." There is just a touch of reduction at first, but that soon blows away to reveal some lovely raspberry, wild strawberry and limestone scents that are very well-defined. The palate is medium-bodied with a gentle but insistent grip on the entry. There is a solid structure, here and very good density. There are layers of raspberry and strawberry fruit but the finish is very mineral-driven - muscular and persistent in the mouth. It is a masculine Pommard that deserves long-term cellaring." Drink 2018 to 2030.
