New 5-year Strategic Plan

OCSD's Board of Directors approved a new Strategic Plan on November 20, 2013.

The Plan includes a new Vision Statement that focuses our efforts on customer service, protecting public health and the environment, fiscal responsibility, communications, partnering with others and creating the best possible workforce. This will be achieved through the goals laid out in the Plan, which involves our collective efforts and provides alignment at all levels of our organization.

The Plan contains new strategic initiatives including energy efficiency and a study of potential biosolids management options ahead of our anticipated request for proposals in 2016.

The initiatives will be taken into consideration during the upcoming budget process and will go into effect on July 1, 2014 with the adoption of the new budget.

The Plan is available here.

Landfill Update

On November 20, 2013, OCSD's Board Biosolids truck unloading at landfilawarded a contract to Sierra Transportation Inc.to haul up to 100 tons per day (5-days per week) of biosolids to a local Orange County landfill. Biosolids trucks started hauling to the landfill option on December 2, 2013.

This new option keeps some of our biosolids and revenue in-county while increasing the diversity of biosolids options.
