2012 Annual Compliance Report Available |
The annual compliance report is submitted to regulators in February of each year and made available on our website via www.ocsewers.com/503.
The annual report includes compliance information as well as conformance with our goals and information on management system.

Revisiting our Biosolids Policy |
In February 2013, OCSD's Board of Directors approved the updated policy
that added several new commitments.
In spring of 2013, OCSD staff voted on whether and how to update the official policy statement to better reflect our new committments. It was kept very much the same, with the revision of one word: "our." We feel this is a testament to how robust our policy statement is.
OCSD strives to recycle our biosolids using sustainable options while protecting public health and the environment. |

2013 Re-certification Third-Party Audit Scheduled |
OCSD is celebrating 10 yearsof certification through the National Biosolids Partnership (NBP) ( www.biosolids.org).
We are kicking-off our third 5-year cycle with a re-certification audit that examines our entire program,including our contractors' facilities and interested party feedback. The independent, third-party auditor measures OCSD's biosolids program performance against the national standard (NBP requirements and expectations) for continual improvement.
The audit is scheduled to take place September 30 - October 4, 2013.
The audit scope and observation opportunity notice will be sent in advance of these dates.

New Hauler Bid Update |
OCSD recently released a bid for haulers to take biosolids to our local landfill and potentially other locations.
The bid has closed and OCSD is in the process of awarding the contract. Check the July Board meeting agenda for more details. Agendas are usually posted to www.ocsewers.com/board one week prior to the meeting. |
Biosolids Budget |
OCSD has some of the lowest sewer rates in the state, in part, because of our effective management of biosolids and finances. The Fiscal Year 2012-13 biosolids hauling budget was slashed by $3 million mid-year, and we were able to stay under that revised budget.
