FROM THE HEART         NEWS FROM KIDS FIRST
APRIL 2013

Greetings to our friends and supporters,

The month of April brings with it a new offering at our Center; a morning workshop on Kids First Intensive Co-Parenting Strategies for the Professional: How to Effectively Work with Divorced Parents in High Conflict. The community has continually expressed interest in the inner workings of ICOPE (Intensive Co-Parenting Education), a nine-week court-ordered program we designed for parents entrenched in conflict that we have been offering here since 2004, and now professionals can get a peek into what makes this program so successful and how to incorporate these techniques into practice.

Additionally, we will be offering a free evening workshop on Zealous Advocacy the Kids First Way, designed for professionals. Please refer below to our calendar for a complete listing of all our April programs. And, of course, don't forget the KIDS FIRST GALA/AUCTION COMING UP ON MAY 16TH!

Warmest regards,

Peg Libby

Determining if You Need Professional
Financial Advising
by Liz Winfeld, FA bookkeeping

When you find yourself in transition due to separation or divorce from your co-parent, matters of personal and family finance are probably front and center a lot of the time.  It's impossible to make broad generalizations about what is appropriate for women and men going through this challenge, but this article will try to lay out basic groundwork for you to try to determine if you need an advisor and how to feel comfortable looking for and, eventually, working with one.
